The activation of osteoblasts is significantly correlated to prostate tumor bone metastasis and bone loss. Oncostatin M (OSM) could promote breast cancer metastasis to bone. However, its role and mechanism in prostate cancer bone metastasis remain unclear.

The present study is aimed to investigate the molecular mechanism of miR-10 targeting NgR to regulate the proliferation and inflammatory cytokine secretion in microglia cells (MCs). The expression levels of NgR, IL-1β, and TNF-α in rat MCs were detected by QPCR and Immunoblotting assays. The proliferation of MC was detected by MTT and Soft agar clone formation assays.

Vertebroplasty is a common and effective treatment for symptomatic osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures. However, the cemented and adjacent vertebras have a risk of recollapse due to largely unassured mechanisms, among which excessive stiffness of bone cement may be an important risk factor. This study aimed to find the most appropriate range of bone cement stiffness by analyzing its biomechanical effects on the augmented and adjacent vertebras of individual patient after vertebroplasty.

Background/aims: Studies have shown that miR-194 functions as a tumour suppressor and is associated with tumour growth and metastasis. This study intends to uncover the mechanism of tumour suppression by miR-194. The expression of miR-194 in osteosarcoma cell lines and tissues were monitored by real-time PCR.

To investigate the microRNA (miR)-150 expression level in human osteosarcoma cell lines (Saos-2, MG-63) and its function in cell proliferation, and to explore the potential molecular mechanisms.
Methods: MiR-150 expression levels in human osteosarcoma cell lines (Saos-2, MG-63) and normal osteoblast cell line (NHOst) were detected by relative quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR). MiR-150 was overexpressed in Saos-2 and MG-63 cells by lentivirus infection.

A mesoporous bioactive glass (MBG) surface modified with poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) electrospun fibrous scaffold for bone regeneration was prepared by dip-coating a PLGA electrospun fibrous scaffold into MBG precursor solution. Different surface structures and properties were acquired by different coating times. Surface morphology, chemical composition, microstructure, pore size distribution, and hydrophilicity of the PLGA-MBG scaffold were characterized.

Objective: Pigmented villonodular synovitis(PVS) is a synovial proliferative disorder that remains a diagnostic difficulty. In this retrospective study we evaluated the diagnostic procedures, clinical symptoms and surgical treatment of PVS.

Methods: Six surgically treated cases of PVS were evaluated: five of the lesions were located in the knee joint and one in the hip joint.

Objective: To explore the application of three dimensional(3D) CT reconstruction(3D-CT-R) in spinal stenosis and injury of the bone and joint.

Methods: Forty cases were examined with the X-ray film, CT scan and 3D-CT-R. To evaluate their diagnostic value, the images of the three methods were compared.
