Objectives: Inflammatory proteins are implicated in the progression of abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA); however, it remains debated whether they are causal or consequential. This study aimed to assess the influence of circulating inflammatory proteins on AAA via two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) and colocalization analysis.

Methods: Summary data on 91 circulating inflammatory protein levels were extracted from a comprehensive protein quantitative trait loci (pQTL) study involving 14,824 individuals.

Carbon emissions of urban rail transit in Chinese cities: A comprehensive analysis.

Thoroughly exploring carbon emissions within Urban Rail Transit (URT) systems is crucial for effectively reducing emissions while satisfying increasing energy demands. This study evaluated the spatiotemporal characteristics of carbon emissions in China's URT sector. Tapio decoupling and the Logarithmic Mean Divisia Index, used to scrutinize decoupling states and identify principal contributing factors, respectively, revealed the following: (1) Total emissions increased by 217 %, with significant spatiotemporal heterogeneity from 2015 to 2022.

Rethinking personal carbon trading (PCT) mechanism: A comprehensive review.

The implementation of Personal Carbon Trading (PCT) holds promise in facilitating a noteworthy contribution towards the attainment of emissions reduction predicated on consumption patterns and consequently motivating lifestyle modifications. As individual consumption behaviors usually lead to continuous changes in carbon emissions, it is crucial to rethink PCT from a systematic perspective. This review employed a bibliometric analysis of 1423 papers related to PCT, highlighting the key themes of carbon emissions from energy consumption, climate change, and public opinion on policies in the context of PCT.

A GC-MS method was developed for identification and determination of menthol in three traditional Chinese medicinal herbs and their compound formulation, a granule for treating colds. Volatile oil was simultaneously distilled and extracted into ethyl ether in a unique glass extractor. The separation was performed on an HP-5 MS column.
