Background: This study explored the protective effects of melatonin on the hypertensive model in myocardial microvascular endothelial cells.
Methods: Mouse myocardial microvascular endothelial cells were intervened with angiotensin II to establish hypertensive cell model and divided into control, hypertension (HP), hypertension + adenovirus negative control (HP + Ad-NC), hypertension + adenovirus carrying Mst1 (HP + Ad-Mst1), hypertension + melatonin (HP + MT), hypertension + adenovirus negative control + melatonin (HP + Ad-NC + MT), and hypertension + adenovirus carrying Mst1 + melatonin (HP + Ad-Mst1 + MT) groups. Autophagosomes were observed by transmission electron microscope.
The activation of mammalian ste20‑like kinase1 (Mst1) is a crucial event in cardiac disease development. The inhibition of Mst1 has been recently suggested as a potential therapeutic strategy for the treatment of diabetic cardiomyopathy. However, whether silencing Mst1 also protects against hypertensive (HP) myocardial injury, or the mechanisms through which this protection is conferred are not yet fully understood.

A total of 50 cases of CHF patients, diagnosed and treated in Shanghai Xuhui Central Hospital from January 2017 to March 2018, were the study group and 30 healthy subjects who underwent physical examination during the same period were the control group. Concentration of serum Gal-3 was detected by ELISA and the expression of miR-214 in serum was detected by RT-qPCR.

Objective: To investigate the effect of obesity, arousal, hypoxia and sympathetic activation on the circadian blood pressure of hypertensive patients with obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome.
Methods: Polysomnography (PSG) was performed in 436 hypertensive patients complaining of snoring, daytime sleepiness, lips cyanosis, hyperhemoglobinemia of unknown etiology, or with refractory hypertension. Hypertensive subjects were divided into four groups according to apnea-hypopnea index (AHI): hypertensive with mild obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS) (n = 131), hypertensive with moderate OSAHS (n = 95), hypertensive with severe OSAHS (n = 95) and hypertensive without OSAHS as control group (n = 115).
