Altering the glucose supply and the metabolic pathways would be an intriguing strategy in starvation therapy toward cancers. Nevertheless, starvation therapy alone could be inadequate to eliminate tumor cells completely. Herein, a multifunctional bioreactor was fabricated for synergistic starvation-chemotherapy through embedding glucose oxidase (GOx) and doxorubicin (DOX) in the tumor targeting ligands (RGD) modified red blood cell membrane camouflaged metal-organic framework (MOF) nanoparticle (denoted as RGD-mGZD).

Article Synopsis
  • Circulating free nucleic acids in biological samples are important for diagnosing diseases, and nanoscale metal-organic frameworks (NMOFs) have shown promise in enhancing nucleic acid sensing through their aptamer adsorption and fluorescence capabilities.
  • Various NMOFs (like ZIF-8 and MIL-100) were tested for their ability to bind with FAM-labeled and TexasRed-labeled aptamers, revealing that TexasRed aptamers are particularly effective for detecting the nucleic acid miR-21 when coupled with pH-responsive components.
  • The study found a linear detection range for miR-21 from 0.1 to 200 pM, suggesting that NMOFs are effective platforms for both extracting

We report a novel biomimetic drug discovery platform using high expression epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) HEK 293 cell membrane camouflaged magnetic nanoparticles. The EGFR/magnetic cell membrane nanoparticles (MCMNs) integrated desirable magnetic features and special binding bioaffinity. Application of this drug-targeting concept is expected to pave ways to a new drug discovery strategy.

The title compound, CHO [systematic name: (4b,8a,10)-3,10-dihy-droxy-2-isopropyl-4b,8,8-trimethyl-4b,5,6,7,8,8a,9,10-octa-hydro-phenanthrene-1,4-dione], is an abietane-type diterpene, which was isolated from (B.). The compound crystallizes in the chiral space group 2, but it was not possible to determine the absolute structure of the mol-ecule in the crystal by resonant scattering.

The title compound [systematic name: (4b)-4-hy-droxy-2-isopropyl-4b,8,8-trimethyl-4b,5,6,7,8,8a-hexa-hydro-phenanthrene-3,9-dione], CHO, is an abietane-type diterpene, which was isolated from (B.). In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming supra-molecular chains propagating along the [001] direction.
