Ophiocordyceps sinensis, also known as DongChong XiaCao (DCXC) in China, is a complex of the parasitic fungus Hirsutella sinensis and its caterpillars host living in extreme alpine environments on the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau. Wild resources of O. sinensis are threatened by over-harvesting due to its perceived high medicinal value.

Given that the alpine biomes are particularly sensitive to global warming, understanding how alpine plants respond to climatic fluctuations is essential for the evolution and conservation of biodiversity. To address this issue, three alpine species of the Gentianaceae (Gentiana crassuloides, G.

Although organisms encounter various pollutants through the intestine, the toxicity effects of DBDPE exposure on the intestine and the potential mechanisms remain unclear. Here, by morphological observation, histopathology, high-throughput sequencing, and transcriptomics methods, we evaluated the effects of environmental (0.

These patients typically have high‑risk genetic mutations and may show little to no response to current treatments, highlighting the need for further exploration of optimal therapeutic targets for MM. B‑cell maturation antigen (BCMA), highly expressed in mature B lymphocytes and plasma cells and upregulated in MM, is a promising therapeutic target.

Methods: Data for patients with sepsis admitted to Dongyang People's Hospital from October 2011 to October 2023 were collected and divided into a modeling group and a validation group. Independent risk factors in the modeling group were analyzed, and a corresponding predictive nomogram was established.
Cardiac remodeling is an end-stage manifestation of multiple cardiovascular diseases, and microRNAs are involved in a variety of posttranscriptional regulatory processes. miR-363-5p targeting Thrombospondin3 (THBS3) has been shown to play an important regulatory role in vascular endothelial cells, but the roles of these two in cardiac remodeling are unknown. Firstly, we established an in vivo model of cardiac remodeling by transverse aortic narrow (TAC), and then we stimulated a human cardiomyocyte cell line (AC16) and a human cardiac fibroblast cell line (HCF) using 1 μmol/L angiotensin II (Ang II) to establish an in vitro model of cardiac hypertrophy and an in vitro model of myocardial fibrosis, respectively.

In this study, the influence of ER on the mechanical behavior and microstructure evolution of 7003 aluminum alloy at high-speed impact with strain rates ranging from 700 s to 1100 s was investigated. The studied alloy with an ER of 56 formed coarse grain rings during the heat treatment.

Using data from the 2020 China Rural Revitalization Survey, this study analyzes the impact of ASS on reducing pesticide inputs. The results show: (1) ASS play a significantly positive role in reducing pesticide inputs.

We performed multi-regional omics sequencing on 150 samples to assess the genetic basis and immune microenvironment in NAT and matched primary tumor or lymph node metastases.

However, studies on their relevance in colorectal cancer (CRC) are limited. We aimed to comprehensively analyze the absolute counts, phenotypes, and function of circulating NK cells in patients with CRC using multiparametric flow cytometry.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the expression of mCD4 in these patients and further evaluate whether mCD4 expression correlates with either the recovery from multiple organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS) or mortality.
Methods: The study participants were recruited from a tertiary general hospital in China (Affiliated Dongyang Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University).
Soil microorganisms play vital roles in regulating multiple ecosystem functions. Recent studies have revealed that the rare microbial taxa (with extremely low relative abundances, which are still largely ignored) are also crucial in maintaining the health and biodiversity of the soil and may respond differently to environmental pressure. However, little is known about the soil community structures of abundant and rare taxa and their assembly processes in different soil layers on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau (QTP).

However, it is essential to recognize that the tropical WNP region already boasts high temperatures, and a marginal increase in oceanic warmth due to global warming does not exert a significant impact on the potential for TCs to intensify. Here we report that the weakened vertical wind shear is the primary driver behind the escalating trend in TC intensity within the summer monsoon trough of the tropical WNP, while local ocean surface and subsurface thermodynamic factors play a minor role.

To identify high-risk subsets and apply immunotherapy effectively in LGG, the status and function of immune infiltration in the glioma microenvironment must be explored.
Methods: Four independent glioma cohorts comprising 1,853 patients were enrolled for bioinformatics analysis.
Cholesterol is often enriched in tumor microenvironment (TME); however, its impact on disease progression varies in different tissues and cells. Monocytes/macrophages (Mφ) are major components and regulators of the TME and play pivotal roles in tumor progression and therapeutic responses. We aimed to investigate the profile, effects, and regulatory mechanisms of Mφ cholesterol metabolism in the context of human hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).

Background: Spontaneous intramuscular hemorrhage (SIH) is a rare but life-threatening complication of dermatomyositis (DM). The pathogenetic mechanism and management of intramuscular hematoma in these patients remains unclear. Here we discuss a case of recurrent hemorrhage in a patient with cancer-associated DM, and review the relevant literature for timely diagnosis and treatment.

As a new QLB approach at the lateral supra-arcuate ligament (QLB-LSAL), the analgesic efficacy and safety in patients undergoing open hepatectomy are still unknown. This study aims to compare postoperative analgesia between the blocks in open hepatectomy.
