Invasive lobular carcinoma (ILC) is the second most prevalent form of invasive breast cancer. Characterized by its insidious growth and distinctive histopathological features, ILC often presents with a less predictable metastatic pattern, including potential invasion of the gastrointestinal tract. This report presents the case of a patient with ILC who developed ileocecal valve metastasis leading to cecal volvulus, a rare but critical complication.

Pleural endometriosis is a rare condition characterized by the presence of endometrial tissue outside the uterus, involving the pleura. This atypical condition can be asymptomatic or cause respiratory symptoms such as chest pain, dyspnea, and hemothorax. We present a clinical case of a 32-year-old woman who presented to the emergency room with hemothorax due to pleural endometriosis.

This review aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the current scientific literature on the interplay between systemic inflammatory disorders, immunosuppressive treatments and their synergistic effect on HNC risk. Both cell-mediated and humoral-mediated systemic inflammatory disorders involve dysregulated immune responses and chronic inflammation and these inflammatory conditions have been associated with an increased risk of HNC development, primarily in the head and neck region.

Methods And Results: This research is part of an observational, cross-sectional epidemiological study on oral health and quality of life of people with mild intellectual disabilities living in (or attending) institutions of the Central Region of Portugal that were affiliated with HUMANITAS (Portuguese Federation for Mental Disability) in 2016. A sociodemographic and oral health questionnaire, applied on the form of an interview to 240 individuals aged between 18 and 64 years, was used.
