Evaluation of a community pharmacy delivered oral contraception service.

Introduction: In the UK half of all pregnancies are unplanned and half of teenage pregnancies terminated. Southwark and Lambeth have the highest teenage conception rates in London. In 2009, many teenage pregnancies in Southwark led to terminations.

Gynaecological ultrasound in community sexual and reproductive health clinics.

Background And Methodology: Many women seen in community sexual and reproductive health (SRH) clinics have gynaecological problems and a pelvic ultrasound scan forms part of their investigation. We present a retrospective analysis of 24 months' provision of a gynaecological ultrasound service in the Department of Sexual and Reproductive Health, Southwark Primary Care Trust, London, UK.

Results: A total of 327 women attended for ultrasound examination; 258 required a pelvic scan and 69 had an Implanon-related problem.

The Haven: a pilot referral centre in London for cases of serious sexual assault.

Objective: Several schemes have been reported to improve treatment of rape and to encourage reporting. The development of a comprehensive forensic and follow up service for complainants of sexual assault is described, and activities of the first year are reviewed.

Design: Retrospective review of case records of complainants examined in The Haven.
