Handling venomous snakes poses a significant risk of envenomation. In the case of spitting cobras, additional precautions, like wearing face shields, are necessary to prevent ophthalmic envenomation. Although, the Monocled Cobra (Naja kaouthia) is not a true spitting cobra, however some spitting events has been reported from Northeastern India and Nepal but ocular envenomation is scarce.

Traditionally, epitaxial metal/semiconductor superlattice growth requires constituent materials from the same family, exhibiting identical structural symmetry and low lattice mismatch. Here, beyond this conventional constraint, a novel class of epitaxial lattice-matched metal/semiconductor superlattices is introduced that utilizes refractory hexagonal elemental transition metals and wide-bandgap III-nitride semiconductors.

Traditionally, the classical Drude model describes plasmonic excitation, wherein plasma frequency exhibits no spatial dispersion. Here, we show conclusive experimental evidence of the breakdown of plasmon resonance and a consequent metal-insulator transition in an ultrathin refractory plasmonic material, hafnium nitride (HfN).

Vascular endothelial growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitors (VEGFR-TKI) have immunomodulatory properties and improve clinical outcomes in combination with anti-PD-1 therapy in different malignancies. We report the long-term efficacy and safety of pembrolizumab and cabozantinib in patients with RMHNSCC and include a correlative biomarker analysis.

One such method is developed in this work where glycopolymer- silica nanoparticles with a large number of carbohydrate units are prepared for the interactions with multiple binding sites of the protein. First, a glycomonomer, β-d-galactose-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (β-GEMA), was synthesized in a two-step process by coupling β-d-galactose pentaacetate and hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA), followed by deacetylation for the preparation of poly(β-GEMA) glycopolymers (GPs).

These seed kernels can be an ideal source for obtaining extracts rich in bioactive polyphenolic compounds with good antioxidant properties. The potential of mango kernel phenolic extract (MKPE) was investigated as a natural and effective antimicrobial agent for controlling major postharvest fungal pathogen infections, a significant threat to global food supply chains.

Objective: To investigate the tolerability, PFS, OS, and patient-reported outcomes with nivolumab (approved standard of care for patients with HNSCC) during and after IMRT reirradiation.
Design, Setting, And Participants: In this multicenter nonrandomized phase 2 single-arm trial, the treatment outcomes of patients with recurrent or second primary HNSCC who satisfied recursive partitioning analysis class 1 and 2 definitions were evaluated.
Background: The purpose of this study was to provide further insights into whether age and/or sex are associated with prognosis in oral tongue squamous cell carcinoma.
Methods: This was a retrospective cohort study utilizing hospital registry data from 2006 to 2016 obtained from the National Cancer Database. Identified patients were divided into various cohorts based on age, sex, and staging.
We investigate the influence of varying confinement on the dynamics of polymer translocation through a cone-shaped channel. For this, a linear polymer chain is modeled using self-avoiding walks on a square lattice. The cis side of a cone-shaped channel has a finite volume, while the trans side has a semi-infinite space.

The RB operates on Faradaic processes, whereas the underlying mechanisms of SCs vary, as non-Faradaic in electrical double-layer capacitors (EDLCs), Faradaic at the surface of the electrodes in pseudo-capacitors (PCs), and a combination of both non-Faradaic and Faradaic in hybrid supercapacitors (HSCs). EDLCs offer high power density but low energy density.

Variations in QuEChERS extraction (without buffer, citrate, and/or acetate buffered) coupled with dispersive clean-up combinations were evaluated. Results showed 5 mL dilution and citrate buffered QuEChERS extraction with anhydrous (anhy) MgSO clean-up gave acceptable recovery for 100 pesticides @ 1 μg mL fortification.

However, due to the changing nutrient dynamics of wastewater, growth and metabolic activity of Chlorella are affected. In order to sustain microalgal growth in wastewater with concomitant production of PUFA rich lipids, RSM (Response Surface Methodology) followed by heuristic hybrid computation model ANN-MOGA (Artificial Neural Network- Multi-Objective Genetic Algorithm) were implemented.

We report distinct phases of the magnetic polymer, including paramagnetic swollen, ferromagnetic swollen, paramagnetic collapsed, and ferromagnetic collapsed states. By evaluating critical exponents associated with phase transitions, we located the phase boundaries between different phases.

Targeting of transcriptional cofactors and the transcriptional cyclin-dependent kinase (CDK9) has emerged as a therapeutic strategy to interdict deregulated transcriptional activity including oncogenic MYC. Here, we report the structural optimization of a small molecule microarray hit, prioritizing maintenance of CDK9 selectivity while improving on-target potency and overall physicochemical and pharmacokinetic (PK) properties.

Traditionally, the Coulomb repulsion or Peierls instability causes the metal-insulator phase transitions in strongly correlated quantum materials. In comparison, magnetic stress is predicted to drive the metal-insulator transition in materials exhibiting strong spin-lattice coupling. However, this mechanism lacks experimental validation and an in-depth understanding.

Chemoradiotherapy (CRT) with cisplatin or anti-epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) antibody improves overall survival (OS) of patients with stage III to IV HNC, and preclinical data suggest that a small-molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitor dual EGFR and ERBB2 (formerly HER2 or HER2/neu) inhibitor may be more effective than anti-EGFR antibody therapy in HNC.
Objective: To examine whether adding lapatinib, a dual EGFR and HER2 inhibitor, to radiation plus cisplatin for frontline therapy of stage III to IV non-HPV HNC improves progression-free survival (PFS).

Low hole mobility of nitride semiconductors is a significant impediment to realizing their high-efficiency device applications. Scandium nitride (ScN), an emerging rocksalt indirect band gap semiconductor, suffers from low hole mobility. Utilizing the Boltzmann transport formalism including spin-orbit coupling, here we show the dominating role of ionized impurity scattering in reducing the hole mobility in ScN thin films.
