Background: Current diagnosis and monitoring of Parkinson's disease (PD) is based on subjective clinical assessments. Objective measures of motor functioning could support clinical acumen. Computer vision (CV) technology is a promising contactless technique but requires further validation.

Treatment options are often underutilized. A major limiting factor in PAD care is the ability to efficiently identify and screen at-risk patients.

Gait speed and rhythm aid risk stratification of incident dementia in subjective cognitive impairment (SCI) and are associated with cognitive domains in mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and dementia.

Methods: Patients with suspected infection were prospectively enrolled within 24 hours of admission to a referral hospital in northeastern Thailand between 2013 and 2017. In patients not requiring intensive medical interventions, multiple enrollment scores were calculated including the National Early Warning Score (NEWS), the Modified Early Warning Score, Between the Flags, and the quick Sequential Organ Failure Assessment score.
Background: Dementia prevalence is predicted to triple to 152 million globally by 2050. Alzheimer's disease (AD) constitutes 70% of cases. There is an urgent need to identify individuals with preclinical AD, a 10-20-year period of progressive brain pathology without noticeable cognitive symptoms, for targeted risk reduction.

Features of the caregiving environment influence youth's responses to environmental stressors, and youth's parasympathetic nervous system regulation may qualify the magnitude and/or direction of these effects. This prospective investigation evaluated diathesis stress and differential susceptibility models of caregiving and parasympathetic influences on youth's PTSS responses to COVID-19.

Objective: The aim of this narrative review is to provide an overview of sepsis epidemiology worldwide and in Germany based on current literature, to identify challenges in this research area, and to give an outlook on future developments.
Materials And Methods: Selective literature review.
Objectives: Unequal access to cognitive assessments is a major barrier to timely diagnosis, especially for those living in rural or remote areas. 'One-stop' cognitive clinic models are a proposed solution, but few such clinics exist. We evaluate the implementation of a new one-stop State-wide clinic model in Tasmania, Australia, where 27% of people live in rural/remote areas.

Methods: A cohort of 1288 women who gave birth between 2006 and 2011 self-reported their exposure to childhood traumatic events, intimate partner violence (IPV), and residential address (linked to geocoded index of violent crime) during pregnancy. Children's length/height and weight at birth and at age 1, 2, 3, 4 to 6, and 8 years were converted to BMI z scores.

Background: Study data indicates anticoagulant interruption peri-procedurally can increase the risk of anticoagulation-related bleeding and thrombosis. Management of anticoagulated patients during the peri-procedural period poses clinical challenges given the potential for thrombosis and bleeding in this complex, high risk population. As such, there is a need for enhanced emphasis on anticoagulated patient care throughout the peri-procedural period with the goal of optimizing patient safety and efficacy.

However, it remains unclear which assessments to use. This study aimed to explore what methods have been used and to describe associations between upper limb function and cognitive impairment.

Although simple dietary intake tools have been developed with other populations, few have been culturally tailored and assessed for validity and reliability among Navajo.
Objectives: This study aimed to develop a simple dietary intake tool tailored to Navajo culture, derive healthy eating indices, and assess their validity and reliability in Navajo children and adults and to describe the process used to develop this tool.
Data on antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and association with outcomes in resource-variable intensive care units (ICU) are lacking. Data currently available are limited to large, urban centers. We attempted to understand this locally through a dual-purpose, retrospective study.

Identifying the best mortality prediction tool is important for counseling patients and families, benchmarking quality improvement efforts, and defining severity of illness for clinical research studies.
Objective: Compare predictive capacity of the Modified Early Warning Score (MEWS), Universal Vital Assessment (UVA), Tropical Intensive Care Score (TropICS), Rwanda Mortality Probability Model (R-MPM), and quick Sequential Organ Failure Assessment (qSOFA) for hospital mortality among adults admitted to a medical-surgical intensive care unit (ICU) in rural Kenya.
Purpose: Despite growing recognition that unfortunately common maternal stress exposures in childhood and pregnancy may have intergenerational impacts on children's psychiatric health, studies rarely take a life course approach. With child psychopathology on the rise, the identification of modifiable risk factors is needed to promote maternal and child well-being. In this study, we examined associations of maternal exposure to childhood traumatic events (CTE) and pregnancy stressful life events (PSLE) with child mental health problems in a large, sociodemographically diverse sample.

In the neutral red uptake screen the p-HTPs were 37-39-fold less potent than 1R6F, in the micronucleus assay, responses to the p-HTPs were 8-22-fold less, and in the Ames test mutagenicity was weak or removed compared to 1R6F. The cardiovascular scratch wound assay revealed 58-fold greater wound healing impairment following exposure to 1R6F smoke extracts than the p-HTPs.
