[Influence of prothymosin alpha and its mutants on activity of the p53 tumor suppressor].

Overexpression of the nuclear oncoprotein prothymosin a enhanced and, in a reciprocal experiment, down-regulation of endogenous prothymosin alpha by RNA interference approach inhibited transcriptional activity of the p53 tumor suppressor in the reporter gene assay. Ectopic expression of prothymosin alpha enhanced not only p53-dependent transcription, but also intracellular level of p53 in HeLa (but not HCT116) cells. Ability to stimulate p53-dependent transcription was lost by C-terminal mutants of prothymosin alpha with impaired nuclear accumulation, but not by N-terminal deletion mutants and by the double mutant of prothymosin alpha with impaired ability to bind Keap1, suggesting that prothymosinalpha-Keap1 interaction is dispensable for p53 response.

[Salvage thermochemotherapy in advanced refractory malignant tumors in children].

[The use of a hydroxylapatitie-based biogenic composite material for eliminating intraosseous cavities].

A rational method to remove the intraosseous cavities by cystectomy, making use of biogenic composite material Colap, has been developed. This material stimulates reparative osteogenesis, creates the optimal conditions for bone wounds healing. A total of 46 patients were operated on for large extensive cysts of the jaws with filling of the postoperative bone defects with the biocomposite.

[The use of hyperbaric oxygenation for the prevention of complications in local plastic operations on the face and neck].

Studied were 37 patients in which defects and deformations of various etiology were corrected using plastic with local tissues excised from face and neck. Polarography, thermography and thermometry proved that 5 sessions of hyperbaric oxygenation (HO) at 1.5 atm.

[Comparative biological value of the proteins comprising the products for the tube and regular feeding of patients with mandibular fractures].

A comparative clinical evaluation was made of the biological effectiveness of protein components in the composition of three types of diet for patients with fractures of the mandible who had received "Ensure" (USA), a product for complete tube feeding; an experimental sample developed at the Institute of Nutrition, Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR; and a routine clinical diet. The biological effectiveness of the proteins was estimated by some anthropometric and biochemical parameters as well as on the basis of nitrogenous metabolism in the patients. It has been established that the protein content in the routine clinical diets does not meet the high requirements in amino acids of patients with fracture of the mandible.
