Background: The Worldwide Innovative Network (WIN) Consortium has developed the Simplified Interventional Mapping System (SIMS) to better define the cancer molecular milieu based on genomics/transcriptomics from tumor and analogous normal tissue biopsies. SPRING is the first trial to assess a SIMS-based tri-therapy regimen in advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).

Methods: Patients with advanced NSCLC (no EGFR, ALK, or ROS1 alterations; PD-L1 unrestricted; ≤2 prior therapy lines) received avelumab, axitinib, and palbociclib (3 + 3 dose escalation design).

Purpose: The number and roles of US nonphysician practitioners (NPPs) have expanded considerably, but little is known about their use by radiology practices. The authors assessed characteristics and trends of radiology practices employing Medicare-recognized NPPs.

Methods: Using Medicare databases from 2017 through 2019, the authors mapped all nurse practitioners and physician assistants (together "NPPs") to employer groups for which all physicians were radiologists ("radiology practices").

Zoonotic spillover of animal viruses into human populations is a continuous and increasing public health risk. Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) highlights the global impact of emergence. Considering the history and diversity of coronaviruses (CoVs), especially in bats, SARS-CoV-2 will likely not be the last to spillover from animals into human populations.

Background: Several studies have evaluated the relationship between tumor mutational burden (TMB) and outcomes of immune checkpoint inhibitors. In the phase II KEYNOTE-158 study of pembrolizumab monotherapy for previously treated recurrent or metastatic cancer, high TMB as assessed by the FoundationOne CDx was associated with an improved objective response rate (ORR).

Methods: We retrospectively assessed the relationship between TMB and efficacy in participants with previously treated advanced solid tumors enrolled in 12 trials that evaluated pembrolizumab monotherapy, including 3 randomized trials that compared pembrolizumab with chemotherapy.

Aim: Nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB) is known to play an important role in the inflammatory process which takes place after ischemic stroke. The major objective of the present study was to examine the effects of MEDS-23, a potent inhibitor of NF-κB, on clinical outcomes and brain inflammatory markers in post-ischemic stroke rats.
