Within the framework of observational methodology, we conducted a log-linear analysis to study efficiency in relation to players' functional ability in wheelchair basketball by analyzing associations between the position of the last pass before a shot, a shot position, and a shot result (favorable or unfavorable). The observation sample contained all offensive sequences ending in a shot by the US men's wheelchair basketball team, who won the gold medal at the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. Data were annotated and coded in the Lince software program and their reliability confirmed by measuring interobserver agreement using Cohen's kappa statistics.

Methods And Results: De novo CIED implantations (2004-15; n = 2 670 590) from the National Inpatient Sample were analysed for characteristics and in-hospital outcomes, stratified by presence of cancer (no cancer, historical and current cancers) and further by current cancer type (haematological, lung, breast, colon, and prostate). Current and historical cancer prevalence has increased from 3.
Purpose: Frequent ventricular premature depolarizations (VPDs) may cause cardiomyopathy (VPDCM), which often improves after VPD suppression. This study aimed to evaluate whether ablation of outflow tract ventricular arrhythmias (OT VAs) in patients with VPDCM improves renal in addition to left ventricular (LV) function.
Methods: We retrospectively evaluated 153 patients with OT VAs and examined VPD burden and LV ejection fraction (LVEF), as well as estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) pre- and post-ablation.
Objectives: Serotonin (5-HT)7 receptors in lymphocytes play a relevant role as modulators of T cell functions and might be modified by stress protocols. The aims of this work were to evaluate: (i) the presence of 5-HT7 receptors in specific lymphocyte populations, (ii) the probable modifications of them by inflammatory stress with mitogen and (iii) the effects of physical and pharmacological stress.
Methods: Blood lymphocytes were isolated by density gradients and differential adhesion to plastic.
Purpose: The aim of this article is to analyze the effect of the base curve on progressive power lens performance by means of the Sheedy scoring technique. We expect to find strong differences on this effect depending on the definition of lens power and on the lens optimization method.
Methods: We have used six different back side progressive lens designs.
Purpose: A progressive power lens (PPL) has a relatively complex power distribution, with regions for far, intermediate, and near vision, and also regions affected by aberrations, mainly astigmatism and defocus. Scoring techniques (Sheedy, Optom Vis Sci 2004;81:350-61) have been proposed to mark and classify PPLs according to their optical performance at each region. The objective of this study is to show that although scoring is useful to compare different lens designs, its outcome is highly dependent on the way power is defined and/or computed.

Polycrystalline samples of α-Ag(2)S (acanthite), As(2)S(3) (orpiment), Sb(2)S(3) (stibnite), Ag(3)AsS(3) (proustite), Ag(3)SbS(3) (pyrargyrite), and three samples of the proustite-pyrargyrite solid solution series were synthesized from pure elements by a solid-state reaction method. Phase identification of samples was carried out by XRD and chemical homogeneity was checked by SEM-EDS.
