Background: Allergic rhinitis (AR) is a prevalent chronic inflammatory condition that significantly impacts patient quality of life and poses a substantial public health burden. Recent advancements in metabolomics have facilitated a deeper understanding of the metabolic pathways involved in AR, offering potential for new biomarkers and therapeutic targets.
Objective: This article aims to conduct a systematic review and meta-analysis of clinical studies summarizing the metabolomic profiles of allergic rhinitis (AR) to gain deeper insights into the metabolic changes and pathological processes underlying AR.
In recent years, quinoa protein (QP) has attracted attention for its balanced amino acids composition, but its limited techno-functional properties continue to pose challenges for its utilization. Non-enzymatic Maillard glycation is considered as a promising strategy to expand the utilization of plant proteins in food processing due to its cost-effectiveness, spontaneous nature, and the lack of need for additives to initiate the reaction. Furthermore, the use of hyaluronic acid (HA) as an ingredient in food products is becoming increasingly accepted and popular.

In this study, nontarget screening assisted by in-house and self-developed spectra databases was, therefore, employed to identify PACs in atmospheric particulate matter collected from multiple outdoor settings. Additionally, absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion, and toxicity properties were evaluated to indicate PAC's overall abilities to cause adverse outcomes and incorporated into a novel health risk assessment model to assess their inhalation risks.

Proinflammatory cytokines such as interleukin 17 (IL-17) can induce cancer cell proliferation, metastasis and immune escape. Although NSCLC immune escape is partly due to the interaction between PD-1 and PD-L1 and PD-L1 expression can be upregulated in cancer cells upon stimulation with IL-17, the underlying mechanism of IL-17-triggered PD-L1 gene transcription in NSCLC cells remains elusive.

This study explores the pro-angiogenic effects of L-theanine and its underlying mechanisms in a mouse model of hindlimb ischemia (HLI). To evaluate L-theanine's pro-angiogenic effects, human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) were subjected to tube formation, migration, sprouting, and proliferation assays.

Melatonin has been widely shown to regulate plant stress response; however, the exact mechanism involved in heat stress in has yet to be determined. Here, we observed that in vitro plantlets supplemented with melatonin in the culture medium exhibited higher chlorophyll content, relative ion leakage, and fresh weight after 12 d of high-temperature treatment; the optimal concentration was established at 5 mg/L.

Methods: This study used single-cell RNA sequencing to analyze doxorubicin-induced senescent B-NHL cells.
This study investigates the correlation between short-term exposure to nitrogen dioxide (NO) and hospitalization for chronic kidney disease (CKD) in Lanzhou, China. A distributed lag nonlinear model (DLNM) was employed to examine the relationship between changes in NO concentration and CKD hospitalizations. Subgroup analyses were conducted to assess the sensitivity of different populations to NO exposure.

This study examined the correlation between these factors and central airway anatomical parameters in adult patients.
Methods: All consecutive patients who underwent lung mass surgery at our hospital between December 2020 and December 2023 were included in this study.
Fusarium head blight (FHB), mainly caused by Fusarium graminearum and Fusarium culmorum, is a major wheat disease. Significant efforts have been made to improve resistance to FHB in bread wheat (Triticum aestivum), but more work is needed for durum wheat (Triticum turgidum spp. durum).

Methods: Fetuses with a prenatal suspected diagnosis of BAV were followed, and confirmed and misdiagnosed cases were obtained. Prenatal echocardiography was reviewed and analyzed.
The absence of the enhancement of fluorescence in carbon dots (CDs) through doping with transition metal atoms (TMAs) hinders the advancement of multi-modal bio-imaging CDs with high photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY). Herein, Mn-atomically-doped R-CDs (R-Mn-CDs) with a high PLQY of 41.3% in water is presented, enabling efficient in vivo dual-mode fluorescence/magnetic resonance (MR) imaging.

Concurrently, we aimed to elucidate the intricate interplay between external environmental exposures and the composition of the oral microbial ecosystem, thereby discerning its potential implications for human health.
Methods: Our study cohort was stratified into four distinct groups: MS (characterized by concurrent exposure to heavy metals and smoking), M (exposed solely to heavy metals), S (exposed solely to smoking), and C (comprising individuals serving as a control group).

Purpose: To explore how hearing changes over time and the characteristics associated with progressive hearing loss in children with enlarged vestibular aqueduct (EVA), and develop a prediction model for anticipation of hearing progression probability.
Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on 48 children (92 ears) diagnosed with EVA. A total of 314 audiograms were included in the analysis of hearing loss trajectories using linear mixed-effects model.
To explore the trend of hearing changes in infants with gene p.V37I mutation at different months. The subjects were 54 children(108 ears) with p.

In this study, genes of E3 ligases are screened based on The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) dataset. Through cytometry by time of flight (CyTOF), flow cytometry, and further experiments, Deltex E3 ubiquitin ligase 2 (DTX2) in HCC cells is identified to promote the infiltration and polarization of tumor-associated neutrophils (TANs) with a protumor phenotype, thus attenuating the infiltration and cytotoxicity of CD8+ T cells partially through C-X-C motif chemokine 2 (CXCL2) and C-X-C motif chemokine 6 (CXCL6).
