[Effect of Rosiglitazone on the proliferation and the production of transforming growth factor-beta 1 in cultured human Tenon' s capsule fibroblasts].

Objective: To investigate the effect of Rosiglitazone on the proliferation and the production of transforming growth factor-beta 1 (TGF-beta 1) in cultured humans Tenon's capsule fibroblasts (HTFs).

Methods: It was a experimental study. HTFs were cultured and subcultured in vitro.

Purpose: There is growing evidence that oxidative stress contributes to the progression of primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG), a leading cause of irreversible blindness worldwide. Methods: TM from patients with POAG (GTM) and age-matched subjects without disease (NTM) were obtained by standard surgical trabeculectomy.
