Lack of association between chronic periodontitis and the Toll-like receptor 4 gene polymorphisms in a Czech population.

Background And Objective: Periodontitis is a bacterially induced chronic inflammatory disease and a major cause of tooth loss among adults. Toll-like receptors are signal molecules essential for the cellular response to bacterial cell wall components. The aim of this study was to investigate relationships between chronic periodontitis and variations in the TLR4 gene.

2.2 Continuous quality improvement.

Continuous quality improvement (CQI) can be envisaged as a circular process of goal-setting, followed by external and internal evaluations resulting in improvements that can serve as goals for a next cycle. The need for CQI is apparent, because of public accountability, maintaining European standards and the improvement of dental education. Many examples are known where recommendations from both external and internal evaluation are used for the improvement of dental education.
