Isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH)-mutant gliomas, comprising both astrocytomas and oligodendrogliomas, represent a distinct group of tumors that pose an interdisciplinary challenge. Addressing the needs of affected patients requires close collaboration among various disciplines, including neuropathology, neuroradiology, neurosurgery, radiation oncology, neurology, medical oncology, and other relevant specialties when necessary. Interdisciplinary tumor boards are central in determining the ideal diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for these patients.

Although macrophage migration inhibitory factor (MIF) is overexpressed in most solid tumors and promotes tumor growth and invasion, the therapeutic potential of MIF inhibition in HNSCC is yet to be explored. A continuous flow approach for the aerobic photo-oxidation of benzylic substrates to ketone and aldehyde products is presented. The resulting process exploits UV-A LEDs (375 nm) in combination with a Corning AFR reactor that ensures effective gas-liquid mixing and leads to short residence times of 1 min. A variety of benzylic substrates are converted to their corresponding carbonyl products, and scalability is demonstrated to produce multigram quantities of products within a few hours.

We experimentally study the influence of the binding energy on nondipole effects in K-shell single-photon ionization of atoms at high photon energies. We find that for each ionization event, as expected by momentum conservation, the photon momentum is transferred almost fully to the recoiling ion.
