It is caused by pathogenic biallelic variants in BCKDHA, BCKA decarboxylase, or dihydrolipoamide dehydrogenase. The brain is the major organ involved in MSUD.

Considering the involvement of long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) SNHG7 and BGL3 found in various cancers, the exact expression pattern of these lncRNAs and their clinical implications in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) continue to be elusive. In order to demonstrate a possible mechanism underlying AML pathogenesis, our goal was to examine BGL3 and SNHG7 lncRNA expressions in PI3K pathway.

This study aimed to identify a sensitive, cost-effective, and easily accessible noninvasive method for detecting the EGFR-targetable mutations in the plasma exosomal DNA (exoDNA)+ of patients with NSCLC.
Methods: This retrospective observational study was conducted over 10 months, from December 2022 to October 2023, at Masih Daneshvari Hospital in Tehran, Iran.
Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are a group of synthetic chemicals that resist degradation, posing a significant environmental and health risk. Current methods for removing PFAS from water are often complex and costly. Here we report a simple, cost-effective method to synthesize an iron oxide/graphenic carbon (Fe/g-C) hybrid photocatalyst for PFAS degradation.

There is a strong evidence base for how to improve PUs and one UK healthcare trust used this evidence to develop a quality improvement (QI) programme using the Institute of Healthcare Improvement's Breakthrough Series collaborative model. 20 teams, from both acute and community settings, participated in the first two phases of the collaborative.

Objectives: This study focuses on predicting dyslipidemia incidence using machine learning methods, addressing the crucial need for early identification and intervention.
Methods: The dataset, derived from the Lifestyle Promotion Project (LPP) in East Azerbaijan Province, Iran, undergoes a comprehensive preprocessing, merging, and null handling process.
In this paper, a thorough theoretical investigation of high-efficiency class-F power amplifier (PA) is undertaken to drive, considering the second and fourth harmonics of input voltage. The precise analytical expressions of the gate-source voltage, drain current, output power, and efficiency are extracted. Maximum normalized output power and maximum drain efficiency from the initial phase and amplitude of the second and fourth harmonics of input gate-voltage can be achieved.

Its rarity makes it challenging to clinically diagnose, and its initial symptoms are typically nonspecific such as rectal/anal bleeding (the most common symptom), anal pain, or the presence of an anal mass. The prognosis for this condition is generally poor, and its incidence appears to be increasing each year.

The aim of this study was to evaluate bone density based on chronological and bone age.
Materials And Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 80 Patients who have been referred for bone density to the Osteoporosis Centre of the Children's Medical Centre over a one-year period (spring 98 to spring 99) were studied.
We investigate the wetting properties of PDMS (Polydimethylsiloxane) pseudo-brush anchored on glass substrates. These PDMS pseudo-brushes exhibit a significantly lower contact angle hysteresis compared to hydrophobic silanized substrates. The effect of different molar masses of the used PDMS on the wetting properties seems negligible.

Materials And Methods: The current randomized controlled clinical trial was conducted on 100 patients in two groups ( = 50). Standard injection of IAN block (IANB) was performed using two cartridges of 3% mepivacaine plain in the first group and using two cartridges of 3% prilocaine with 0.
Background: Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a disease caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), the seventh coronavirus to be linked to human disease. The SARS-CoV-2 virus may have several pathophysiologic interactions with endocrine systems, resulting in disruptions in glucose metabolism, hypothalamus and pituitary function, adrenal function, and mineral metabolism. An increasing amount of evidence demonstrates both the influence of underlying endocrine abnormalities on the outcome of COVID-19 and the effect of the SARS-CoV-2 virus on endocrine systems.

In this study, we evaluated the major cytokine of Treg cells transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β), and their specific transcription factor Forkhead box P3 (FOXP3), as well as the most highlighted cytokine of Th17 cells (interleukin [IL]-17A) in both URPL patients and healthy women.
Methods: Samples were extracted from the peripheral blood, endocervix, endometrium, and vagina of 14 patients with URPL and 12 normal non-pregnant women as a control (normal) group.
Background: As a psychostimulant agent, methylphenidate (MPH) abuse can cause serious liver damage. Studies have documented the hepatoprotective impacts of curcumin on liver damage. According to this definition, the purpose of this study is to explain the hapatoprotective effects of curcumin against the hepatotoxicity induced by MPH.

Methods: Inclusion criteria were defined as all very preterm (gestational age <32 weeks) or VLBW (birth weight ≤1500g) neonates with initial Thyroid Function Test (TFT) who were admitted to the Neonatal Intense Care Unit (NICU) of Taleghani Hospital, Tabriz, Iran, from March 2015 to March 2016. Exclusion criteria were the absence of initial TFT with any major congenital anomaly.
Accurate and early detection of anomalies in peripheral white blood cells plays a crucial role in the evaluation of well-being in individuals and the diagnosis and prognosis of hematologic diseases. For example, some blood disorders and immune system-related diseases are diagnosed by the differential count of white blood cells, which is one of the common laboratory tests. Data is one of the most important ingredients in the development and testing of many commercial and successful automatic or semi-automatic systems.

Incidence of this genetic disorder is estimated at 1/90,000-200,000 worldwide and 1/6500-9000 in genetically isolated populations such as Iran. Here, we investigated AIRE gene mutations in eight independent Iranian non-Jewish families.

Exogenous insulin administration is the only standard treatment for T1DM. However, despite tight glycemic control many patients will develop chronic life-threatening complications.

However, most conventional cell separation techniques are labor-intensive and low throughput, require large volumes of samples, need extensive cell manipulation, and have low purity. To address these challenges, we report the design and fabrication of a passive, label-free microfluidic device with a unique U-shaped cross-section to separate WBCs from whole blood using hydrodynamic forces that exist in a microchannel with curvilinear geometry.

For water drops it has been observed that adding surfactant decreases the dynamic receding contact angle even at a concentration much lower than the critical micelle concentration (CMC). To better understand why surfactants have such a drastic effect on drop dynamics, we constructed a dedicated setup on an inverted microscope, in which an aqueous drop is held stationary while the transparent substrate is moved horizontally.

This 'contextual-cueing' (CC) effect is attributed to incidental learning of spatial distractor-target relations. Prior work has typically used only one recognition measure (administered after the search task) to establish whether CC is based on implicit or explicit memory of repeated displays, with the outcome depending on the diagnostic accuracy of the test.

In this study, the effectiveness of PASylation in enhancing the potency and plasma half-life of pharmaceutical proteins has been accredited as an alternative technique to the conventional methods such as PEGylation. Proline, alanine, and serine (PAS) chain has shown some advantages including biodegradability improvement and plasma half-life enhancement while lacking immunogenicity or toxicity. Although some experimental studies have been performed to find the mechanism behind PASylation, the detailed mechanism of PAS effects on the pharmaceutical proteins has remained obscure, especially at the molecular level.
