Diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis (DISH) also known as Forestier disease is a noninflammatory, systemic skeletal disease of unknown etiology. DISH is usually asymptomatic but may compress the posterior wall of the aero digestive tract and lead to dysphagia, globus, hoarseness, stridor, dyspnea, and neurological problems. Although dysphagia is not uncommon among the presenting symptoms of DISH but dysphonia and stridor are rarely reported.

This study aimed to investigate neurochemical changes in prefrontal cortex, thalamus, and limbic circuits in patients with PNES and IGE. We also analyzed the interaction between cognitive functions and neurochemical changes in both groups.

In comparison to bare ZnFeO and ZnO, the ZnFeO-ZnO@N/B/RGO and ZnFeO@ZnO-CN ternary products showed highly improved photocatalytic properties in the degradation of methyl orange (MO) under ultra-violet (UV) and visible light irradiation. Various physicochemical properties of the photocatalysts were evaluated through field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), energy-dispersive X-ray (EDX) analysis, X-ray diffraction (XRD), UV-visible diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) techniques.

We aimed to determine the 10-year ASCVD risk and cardiovascular age gap (CAG) of Canadians 40-79 and the association between prevalent dietary patterns and ASCVD risk, and CAG.
Subjects/methods: Health measures and dietary intake information were obtained from 2088 respondents representative of 13,655,671 Canadians 40-79 years in the cross-sectional Canadian Health Measures Survey Cycles 1 and 2 (2007-11).
Background & Aim: Several studies consider vitamin D deficiency as a modifiable risk factor for adverse pregnancy outcomes. However, there is no specific cut-off point for the serum level of this prohormone to identify high-risk pregnant women. This study aimed to determine the thresholds for the circulating levels of 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25(OH)D), associated with adverse pregnancy outcomes, including preterm labor, preeclampsia (PE), and gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), using a generalized additive model.

The major goal of this study was to investigate the effects of medial Prefrontal Cortex (mPFC) stimulation on sustained attention task performance measured by Rapid Visual Information Processing (RVIP) task and the brain networks assumed to be critical to sustained attention. mPFC has been shown to be involved in sustained attention performance and as a main hub in default mode network (DMN).

Acute ischemia stroke (AIS) is one of the leading causes of mortality and disability worldwide, and its neurological impacts are devastating and permanent. There is no efficient and real treatment for acute ischemia stroke so far. Therefore, development of efficient therapeutic strategies is under focus of investigations by basic and clinical scientists.

In this article, we analyze the levels of D-dimer in patients with COVID-19.
Area Covered: In the current study, three databases, PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, searched using related keywords and information extracted from articles such as location, sample size, gender, age, coagulation test values, patient results, and disease severity.
Introduction: Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a well-known neurodevelopmental disorder. Diagnosis and treatment of ADHD can often lead to a developmental trajectory toward positive results. The present study aimed at implementing the decision tree method to recognize children with and without ADHD, as well as ADHD subtypes.

"Bronchiolization", characterized by ectopic appearance of airway epithelial cells in the alveolar regions, is one of the characteristic features in the IPF lung. Based on the knowledge that club cells are the major epithelial secretory cells in human small airways, and their major secretory product uteroglobin (SCGB1A1) is significantly increased in both serum and epithelial lining fluid of IPF lung, we hypothesize that human airway club cells contribute to the pathogenesis of IPF.

It is known as "drug of aggression" because of its very strong and long-lasting effects on the central nervous system. The sedative influence of flunitrazepam drug increases with alcohol drinking, which causes mental and motor disorders and causes the victim to become silent.

To investigate atmospheric deposition and contamination of heavy metal elements in the glaciers of the eastern Tibetan Plateau (ETP), we collected the surface snow (cryoconites) samples in the Lenglongling Glacier (LG), the Gannan Snowpack (GS), the Dagu Glacier (DG), the Hailuogou Glacier (HG) and Yulong Snow-mountain Glacier (YG) in summer 2017. Samples were analyzed for concentrations and enrichment factors (EFs) of Al and trace elements (Pb, Co, Cd, Ba, Mn, Ga, Sc, V, Zn, Cr, Ni, Cu, Rb, Sb, Cs, As, Mo, Li) using inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (ICP-MS).

The question remains if the pathophysiological background of both factors is also separate at levels of investigation beyond core symptoms. This would allow a clearer understanding and a more focused treatment approach even with tools derived from these levels.

Little is known about the molecular phenotypes of the specific cell populations comprising the SAE in humans, and the contribution of SAE specific cell populations to the risk for lung diseases.
Methods: Drop-seq single-cell RNA-sequencing was used to characterize the transcriptome of single cells from human SAE of nonsmokers and smokers by bronchoscopic brushing.
In the past decades, the rapid growth of computer and database technologies has led to the rapid growth of large-scale medical datasets. On the other, medical applications with high dimensional datasets that require high speed and accuracy are rapidly increasing. One of the dimensionality reduction approaches is feature selection that can increase the accuracy of the disease diagnosis and reduce its computational complexity.
