High-energy nuclear collisions create a quark-gluon plasma, whose initial condition and subsequent expansion vary from event to event, impacting the distribution of the eventwise average transverse momentum [P([p_{T}])]. Disentangling the contributions from fluctuations in the nuclear overlap size (geometrical component) and other sources at a fixed size (intrinsic component) remains a challenge. This problem is addressed by measuring the mean, variance, and skewness of P([p_{T}]) in ^{208}Pb+^{208}Pb and ^{129}Xe+^{129}Xe collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=5.

Published data demonstrate reduced white matter myelin content and lower oligodendrocyte cell number in postsurgical brain specimens obtained from patients with focal cortical dysplasia (FCD) and temporal lobe epilepsy; a pathogenic role of dysfunctional myelin in focal epilepsies has been proposed. Based on this evidence, our study aims to investigate the myelination status in the gray matter in postsurgical brain specimens from patients with FCDIIb.

If observed, these rare processes would provide a unique test bench for the quantum chromodynamics factorization formalism used to calculate cross sections at colliders. Additionally, at future colliders, these decays could offer a new way to measure the W boson mass through fully reconstructed decay products.

Mites colonise and develop within healthy buds which become swollen, with subsequent alteration to the plant's development. To date, there has been limited knowledge on how the cultivar and pest management strategies affect infestations.

Epilepsy represents a common neurological disorder in patients with developmental brain lesions, particularly in association with malformations of cortical development and low-grade glioneuronal tumors. In these diseases, genetic and molecular alterations in neurons are increasingly discovered that can trigger abnormalities in the neuronal network, leading to higher neuronal excitability levels. However, the mechanisms underlying epilepsy cannot rely solely on assessing the neuronal component.

The dataset used corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 140 fb^{-1} of proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV recorded by the ATLAS detector. Two fiducial regions with an enhanced presence of events featuring two longitudinally polarized bosons are defined.

With technological sequencing advances and ongoing research, the genetic diagnostic yield for specific seizure disorders and epilepsies is expected to increase. Genetic variants associated with epilepsy include chromosomal abnormalities and rearrangements of various sizes as well as single gene variants.

The increasing incidence of Colletotrichum fioriniae (Colletotrichum acutatum species complex) as causal agent of olive anthracnose in Italy, is endorsing new studies on its biology, ecology, and environmental factors such as temperature. Five isolates from different sampling sites in Lazio region (Central Italy) were studied under controlled laboratory conditions aiming to better understand the differences of thermal development among the isolates and to lay the foundations of a future mathematical model able to describe the key aspects of the pathogen's life cycle.

Searches targeting pure-wino chargino pair production, pure-wino chargino-neutralino production, or Higgsino production decaying via standard model W, Z, or h bosons are combined to extend the mass reach to the produced supersymmetric particles by 30-100 GeV. The depth of the sensitivity of the original searches is also improved by the combinations, lowering the 95% C.
