The study focused on understanding the knowledge and attitudes towards HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) in Lesotho, involving various stakeholders including policy makers, healthcare providers, and end-users.
Respondents generally had a positive view of PrEP, highlighting its benefits for serodiscordant couples and its role in controlling the HIV epidemic, but there were significant misconceptions prevalent among the general population.
To effectively implement PrEP in Lesotho, a communication strategy is recommended to capitalize on the positive perceptions while addressing the prevalent misunderstandings about PrEP.
