Introduction: Bisphosphonates are widely used in the treatment of osteoporosis; however, they are associated with the serious adverse event of bisphosphonate-related osteonecrosis of the jaw (BRONJ).
Aim: The aim of this study is to assess the effects of nitrogen-containing bisphosphonates (N-PHs) on the synthesis of IL-1, TNF-, sRANKL, cathepsin K, and annexin V in bone cells cultured .
Materials And Methods: Osteoblasts and bone marrow-derived osteoclasts were cultured , subjected to treatment with alendronate, risedronate, or ibandronate at a concentration of 10 M for 0 to 96 h and then assayed for IL-1, sRANKL, and TNF- production by ELISA.

Background: This study sought to investigate the effects of omega (ω)-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA) supplementation on the lipid profiles and glucose (GLU) levels of overweight (OW) schoolchildren with metabolic syndrome (MS).
Methods: Thirty-nine OW schoolchildren with MS, including 19 girls and 20 boys, received 1-month of dietary supplementation with gel capsules containing ω-3 fatty acids. Fasting lipid profiles and GLU levels were measured before and after supplementation.
