Developmental normative data for the Balance Tracking System modified Clinical Test of Sensory Integration and Balance protocol.

A growing number of practitioners are implementing the Balance Tracking System (BTrackS) modified Clinical Test of Sensory Integration and Balance (mCTSIB) to evaluate the sensory sources of balance feedback used to maintain upright standing. The aim of the current study was to expand existing BTrackS mCTSIB normative databases on adults to include reference values from developmental age groups. Participants included children (age range = 5-8 years; n = 212), adolescents (age range = 9-12 years; n = 103), teenagers (age range = 13-17 years; n = 152), and young adults (age range = 18-29 years; n = 779).

Pediatrician-experienced barriers in the medical care for refugee children in the Netherlands.

Unlabelled: Pediatricians in the Netherlands have been confronted with high numbers of refugee children in their daily practice. Refugee children have been recognized as an at-risk population because they may have an increased burden of physical and mental health conditions, and their caretakers may experience barriers in gaining access to the Dutch health care system. The aim of the study was to gain insight into the barriers in the health care for refugee children perceived by pediatricians by analyzing logistical problems reported through the Dutch Pediatric Surveillance Unit, an online system where pediatricians can report predefined conditions.

Environmental assessment of the CIESOL solar building after two years operation.

Life cycle assessment is applied to assess the environmental benefits and trade-offs of a solar-assisted heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning (HVAC) system installed in the CIESOL building in Almeria (southeastern Spain). The environmental performance of this system is compared to that of a conventional HVAC system using a heat pump. The study evaluates these systems from cradle to grave, and the impact assessment includes, in addition to the CML2001 method, an impact category dealing with impacts on freshwater resources.

[Captopril treatment--2-year period of observation].

Captopril was administered to 50 carefully selected patients with severe circulatory failure (18 patients classified as class III and 32 as class IV according to NYHA) in daily dose of 37.5-75 mg for two years. Patients were also given digoxin, diuretic agents and iso-dinitrosorbide.

[Comparison of the levels of 6 metals in the blood of workers in the Bełchatów Industrial District before and after activation of the electric power station].

The concentration of six trace metals has been determined in the blood of 90 workers of the Bełchatów Industrial District after the electric power station start-off. The results have been compared with those related to the time before the start-off. The trace elements have been determined using the flameless atomic absorption (Cd, Pb, Mn), flame atomic absorption (Zn), or colorimetric methods (Fe, Cu).
