Background: The definition of 'recovery' has evolved beyond merely control of problem substance use to include other aspects of health and wellbeing (known as 'recovery capital') which are important to prevent relapse to problematic alcohol or other drug (AOD) use. Developing a Recovery Oriented System of Care (ROSC) requires consideration of interventions or services (Recovery Support Services, RSS) designed to build recovery capital which are often delivered alongside established treatment structures. Lived experience and its application to the process of engaging people, changing behaviour and relapse prevention is an essential part of these services.

Objective: To observe longitudinal correlations between limb anthropometry against weight, BMI and functional decline in patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
Methods: A longitudinal, prospective, cohort study was undertaken. Four consecutive measurements of weight, height, triceps skinfold thickness (TSF), mid-upper arm (MUAC) and calf circumferences were collected at three-monthly intervals.
Pre-registration student placements have traditionally been based in clinical settings. Recently, practice-based learning has evolved to include additional settings, including research, leadership and management. Methods: We conducted a systematic review of quantitative and qualitative evidence (PROSPERO CRD42020187295), searching bibliographic databases and grey literature. Given that an initial scoping search highlighted a scarcity of evidence specific to substance use treatment, evidence of disinvestment from publicly funded sexual health and smoking cessation services was also included.
Introduction: The positive impact of substance use treatment is well-evidenced but there has been substantial disinvestment from publicly funded treatment services in England since 2013/2014. This paper examines whether this disinvestment from adult alcohol and drug treatment provision was associated with changes in treatment and health outcomes, including: treatment access, successful completions from treatment, alcohol-specific hospital admissions, alcohol-specific mortality and drug-related deaths.
Methods: Annual administrative data from 2013/2014 to 2018/2019 was matched at local government level and multi-level time series analysis using linear mixed-effect modelling conducted for 151 upper-tier local authorities in England.

Based on the current knowledge of regulatory RNAs and non-coding RNA (ncRNA), the antisense technologies are reviewed according to the classification of ncRNAs, which are roughly categorized into small, ranging from ~20-200 nucleotides in length, and long >200 nucleotides. Polarization modulation infrared reflection absorption spectroscopy (PM-IRRAS) measurements were used to characterize structural and orientational changes in this model biological membrane upon binding CTB and the application of the electrode potential. The data presented in this article show that binding cholera toxin to the membrane leads to an overall increase in the tilt angle of the fatty acid chains; however, the conformation of the bilayer remains relatively constant as indicated by the small decrease in the total number of gauche conformers of acyl tails.

Electrochemically assisted co-precipitation of BSA/brushite coatings onto HA resulted in a 70-fold increase in BSA inclusion compared to simple adsorption, and was subsequently released by a slower mechanism (15% loss over 70 h). Thus, this electrochemically assisted co-precipitation technique provides an efficient method of protein incorporation at physiological temperature, with a potential for sustained release of therapeutic agents as may be required for metallic implant fixation.
