Similar outcomes and satisfaction after transtibial versus transportal femoral drilling for anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction in young adult recreational athletes.

Purpose: Controversy continues regarding whether the transtibial (TT) and transportal (TP) methods for anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction provide similar or different outcomes, and the evidence on patient satisfaction is very limited. The objective of this study was to compare functional outcomes and patient satisfaction in young adult recreational athletes who underwent arthroscopic hamstring ACL reconstruction using either the TT or the TP femoral tunnel drilling method.
