Education Programs for Informal Caregivers of Noncancer Patients in Home-Based Palliative Care: A Scoping Review.

The literature available on the topic of education programs for noncancer patients' informal caregivers (ICs) is heterogeneous and fragmented in the setting of palliative care (PC). We conducted a scoping review (ScR) to map the literature on educational programs for ICs in home-based PC, considering the available reviews, qualitative studies, observational studies, studies of validation of measurement tools, uncontrolled trials, nonrandomized controlled trials, and feasibility studies. This ScR included 21 eligible records by searching PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, Scopus, and CINAHL databases.

The rising prevalence and incidence of Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) highlights its impact on quality of life, long-term health complications, and the economic burden it poses across socio-economic strata. Effective management of T1D demands robust self-care skills, which are significantly influenced by health literacy (HL) levels; studies have shown that lower HL is associated with poorer health outcomes. This scoping review protocol is designed to identify literature trends and hidden patterns in research assessing HL among individuals with T1D.

Barriers perceived by university faculty in implementing interprofessional education: A scoping review protocol.

Development and Validation of the Midwifery Interventions Classification for a Salutogenic Approach to Maternity Care: A Delphi Study.

This study aims to develop and validate a Midwifery Interventions Classification (MIC), which is an evidence-based, standardized taxonomy and classification of core midwifery interventions based on a salutogenic perspective for maternity care. This study described the consensus process up to the results regarding the validation of the MIC through a two-round Delphi survey involving three panels of stakeholders: Midwives, Healthcare Researchers, and Maternity Service Users. The resulting MIC comprises 135 core midwifery interventions classified into Direct Midwifery care (n = 80 interventions), Indirect Midwifery Care (n = 43 interventions), and Community Midwifery Care (n = 12 interventions), reaching an overall consensus rate among experts equal to 87%.

Psychometric Characteristics of the Quality of Oncology Nursing Care Scale (QONCS): A Validation Study.

Aim: This study aims to identify meaningful clusters based on Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) in curatively-treated esophageal cancer patients at three months post-discharge.

Methods: This secondary analysis of a longitudinal single-center study included 46 esophageal cancer patients who underwent curative surgery. Patients were selected based on their completion of PROMs surveys at three months post-discharge, were aged 18 years or older, and had undergone surgical resection (esophagectomy) with or without neoadjuvant chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy.

A scoping review of decision regret in non-communicable diseases: The emerging roles of patient-clinician communication, psychological aspects, and medical outcomes.

Objective: To map the existing literature on decision regret among patients with non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and develop an integrated framework to understand its impact on patient outcomes and healthcare processes.

Methods: A systematic search of PubMed, Embase, CINAHL, Cochrane Library, Google Scholar, and Scopus databases was conducted until January 2024 using the "Population, Concept, Context" framework. The review identified and analyzed 28 studies published between 2005 and 2023 in North America and Europe.

Background: Oral anticoagulation therapy (OAC) is the cornerstone treatment for preventing venous thromboembolism and stroke in patients with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation (NVAF). Despite its significance, challenges in adherence and persistence to OAC regimens have been reported, leading to severe health complications. Central to addressing these challenges is the concept of self-efficacy (SE) in medication management.

Shaping the future research agenda of Cancer Nursing in Italy: Insights and strategic directions.

This report analyzes the evolution of cancer nursing research in Italy, focusing on 207 publications from nursing journals indexed in MEDLINE. Using Latent Dirichlet Allocation, we identified four primary research topics from the included abstracts: Patient-Centered Care, Clinical Nursing Practice, Healthcare Institutions and Systems, and Research and Data Analysis. The temporal trends reveal a shift from foundational studies on healthcare systems in the late 1990s to more recent emphases on patient-centered care and clinical practice.

The Public's Perception of Florence Nightingale's Legacy in the Digital Media: A Critical Discourse Analysis.

This study critically examines the public's perception of Florence Nightingale's legacy through a critical discourse analysis (CDA) of digital media, specifically podcasts and YouTube. Nightingale, who is often remembered as "The Lady with the Lamp", holds a complex identity within modern narratives that is celebrated for her pioneering contributions to nursing and public health, even if there are some disagreements about her, given the colonialist setting that may have shaped some of her opinions and decisions. This research employed CDA to analyze 25 podcasts and 18 YouTube videos, which were systematically included according to a priori inclusion criteria.

Reliability and validity of the Italian Version of the Chase Nurse Manager Competencies Scale.

Objectives: This study aimed to translate and test the psychometric properties of the Chase Nurse Manager Competency Instrument (CNMCI) among Italian nurse managers and to provide further support for the scale's validity testing.

Methods: An instrument translation and cross-sectional validation study was conducted. The English version was translated into Italian using the translation method, which included pre-translation (establishing equivalence), initial translation, pretesting, review, and administration.
