Caring for Hospitalized Children in Foster Care: Provider Training, Preparedness, and Practice.

Background And Objectives: Children and youth in foster care (CYFC) have high rates of health care utilization, including inpatient care. The objective of this study was to explore the inpatient provider experience caring for CYFC.

Methods: Semistructured interviews were conducted with inpatient pediatric providers from Mid-Atlantic hospitals.

Care manager, older adult, and caregiver perspectives on co-occurring care management among high-need older adults.

Background: Care management programs are widely used to improve care coordination and management of chronic conditions for high-need older adults. With many care management programs targeting a small number of people, high-need older adults may receive services from more than one care management program (co-occurring care management), the implications of which are unknown.

Methods: We conducted semi-structured interviews with 37 care managers, 15 older adults, and 13 caregivers, who were recruited through an urban academic medical center and a large rural health system in Maryland.

Prostate cancer (PCa) is a very complex disease that is a major cause of death in men worldwide. Currently, PCa dependence on the androgen receptor (AR) has resulted in use of AR antagonists and antiandrogen therapies that reduce endogenous steroid hormone production. However, within two to three years of receiving first-line androgen deprivation therapy, the majority of patients diagnosed with PCa progress to castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC).
