Objectives: This study aimed to assess the prevalence and risk factors associated with disease-related malnutrition (DRM) in hospitalized patients using the Subjective Global Assessment (SGA) and Global Leadership Initiative on Malnutrition (GLIM) criteria. Additionally, we sought to identify key determinants of moderate and severe malnutrition.

Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on 1036 adult patients hospitalized in a tertiary care hospital between August 2019 and November 2020.

This study aimed to evaluate the role of the C-reactive protein-to-prealbumin (CP) ratio and the C-reactive protein-to-albumin (CA) ratio as nutritional and prognostic markers. A retrospective study was conducted on hospitalized patients who underwent a nutritional assessment and the measurement of C-reactive protein, prealbumin, and albumin ( = 274). Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis was used.

This study aims to assess predictors of postpartum glucose metabolism disorders and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) after GDM.

Change in levothyroxine requirements after bariatric surgery in patients with hypothyroidism.

This study aims to evaluate the need to modify the total and weight-adjusted doses of levothyroxine after bariatric surgery, identify predictors, and assess the influence of the weight loss on the levothyroxine requirements. A retrospective study in patients with treated hypothyroidism that underwent bariatric surgery. The modification of the levothyroxine dose and its association with the weight loss and other potential predictors were evaluated at 6, 12, and 24 months post-surgery.

Medical detransition following transgender identity reaffirmation: two case reports.

Background Recently, increased social and scientific attention has been paid to gender detransition, a phenomenon in which individuals discontinue gender-affirming medical interventions (GAMI) aimed at alleviating gender dysphoria (GD). Yet, clinical knowledge of detransitioners and their experiences is still scarce. Case reports published in the literature suggest that both internal and external factors may influence this decision.

An Unusual Case of Hypopituitarism as an Adverse Effect of Vandetanib and Remission of Breast Metastases in a Patient with Medullary Thyroid Cancer.

Introduction: Tyrosine kinase inhibitors have been a breakthrough in the treatment of advanced medullary thyroid cancer (MTC), and they can prolong progression-free survival (PFS).

Case Presentation: A patient with MTC and metastatic spread to the lymph nodes, lungs, bones, breast, and cerebellum started treatment with vandetanib. During treatment, she developed secondary adrenal insufficiency and hypogonadotropic hypogonadism.

Orbital Radioiodine Uptake on Scintigraphy in a Patient with Thyroid Cancer.

Background: Orbital radioiodine uptake in patients with thyroid cancer is very uncommon with only a few reported cases, most of them being metastasis. The accumulation of I in nonthyroidal tissues and body fluids can lead to false-positive results in scintigraphy, which are sometimes difficult to differentiate from true metastases.

Case Report: A post-therapy I whole-body (WBI) scintigraphy in an asymptomatic 57-year-old female with papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) previously treated with total thyroidectomy and 6 ablative radioiodine doses showed a focal uptake in the right eyeball region.
