Workforce, Workload, and Burnout in Critical Care Organizations: Survey Results and Research Agenda.

Objectives: This report provides analyses and perspective of a survey of critical care workforce, workload, and burnout among the intensivists and advanced practice providers of established U.S. and Canadian critical care organizations and provides a research agenda.

Chronic Aspiration Pneumonitis Caused by Spontaneous Cerebrospinal Fluid Fistulae of the Skull Base.

Objectives/hypothesis: Spontaneous cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leaks of the skull base are associated with obesity, multiparity, and elevated intracranial pressure. Although spontaneous CSF leaks often present with rhinorrhea, they can be an underdiagnosed cause of chronic aspiration pneumonitis, a complication that has not been previously reported in detail.

Study Design: Retrospective case series.

Feasibility of a Critical Care Ultrasound Curriculum Delivered Through Facebook.

Purpose To investigate the feasibility of adjunct critical care ultrasound (CCUS) curriculum via Facebook, and evaluate its impact on fellow's interest and knowledge acquisition. Materials and methods All University of Southern California (USC), Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine (PCCM) fellows were provided the usual CCUS curriculum. The intervention group provided access to an adjunct CCUS curriculum delivered via Facebook.

Workforce, Workload, and Burnout Among Intensivists and Advanced Practice Providers: A Narrative Review.

Objectives: To assess-by literature review and expert consensus-workforce, workload, and burnout considerations among intensivists and advanced practice providers.

Design: Data were synthesized from monthly expert consensus and literature review.

Setting: Workforce and Workload section workgroup of the Academic Leaders in Critical Care Medicine Task Force.
