Expression of Cyclin D1 and Claudin-1 in Invasive Breast Carcinoma and Their Correlation with Clinicopathological Parameters.

Background & Objective: Evidence-based medicine has shown that patients with similar risk factors, stages, and therapy often have different clinical outcomes, highlighting the heterogeneity of breast cancer. In a quest for a better, cost-effective approach, researchers proposed the selection of surrogate IHC markers such as cyclin D1 and claudin-1 for the prognosis of breast cancer patients, supplementing the traditional ER, PR, and HER2/neu receptor.

Methods: This retrospective study was conducted in a tertiary care hospital in northern India and included 50 cases of invasive breast carcinoma obtained from mastectomies, wide local excisions, and biopsies diagnosed over 4 years.

Hepatic basidiobolomycosis masquerading as cholangiocarcinoma: a case report and literature review.

Basidiobolus ranarum is known to cause subcutaneous mycoses; however, rare cases of hepatic and gastrointestinal involvement by basidiobolomycosis have been reported. Hepatic basidiobolomycosis may be confused with a carcinoma on imaging, and histological examination and fungal culture can help distinguish between these two. We report a rare case of basidiobolomycosis in a 16-year-old male with liver and gastrointestinal involvement.

A Giant Pediatric Chylolymphatic Cyst: An Extremely Rare Entity.

Chylolymphatic cyst, variant of mesenteric cyst, is a rare entity. Clinical presentation and radiological features are not characteristic, so diagnosis can be made finally on histopathology. We report an extremely rare case of giant chylolymphatic cyst measuring >15 cm.

Adult Ectopic Cervical Thymic Tissue in relation to a Parathyroid Adenoma and a Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma: A Report of Two Cases.

Ectopic cervical thymus is a rare congenital anomaly, which results because of the failure of complete descent of the thymus. They are incidental findings in the young and may disappear during the early years of life; however, they have rarely been described in adults. Some of them may undergo hyperplasia or neoplastic transformation and become visible or cause symptoms.
