Phenoxyalkanoic acid (PAA) herbicides are mainly metabolized by microorganisms in soils, but the degraders that perform well under alkaline environments are rarely considered. Herein, we report strain X32, which showed encouraging PAA-degradation abilities, PAA tolerance, and alkali tolerance.
