Allergic diseases are on the rise, posing a significant health threat, particularly in Sichuan province, China, where a study analyzed allergen-specific immunoglobulin E (sIgE) levels in over 12,000 patients suspected of having allergies.
The study found that D1 and D2 allergens had the highest sensitization rates (22.97% and 23.33%, respectively), with men showing a higher rate of sensitization compared to women, and most patients with allergic rhinitis and asthma were sensitized to these allergens.
This research highlights the need for better identification and management of allergens, which can aid in preventing and treating allergic diseases.
