First CT characteristic appearance of patients with coronavirus disease 2019.

Objectives: To investigate imaging features of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), and to provide concrete evidences for diagnosis of COVID-19.

Methods: Imaging data of the first chest CT examination and clinical data (age, sex, clinical history, epidemiological history, and laboratory tests) of 163 patients with COVID-19 from 2 hospitals were collected for retrospective analysis. Imaging features of the first chest CT examination and the correspondence between CT manifestations and the nucleic acid test results of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) were analyzed.

[Bibliometric analysis on clinical trials of auricular acupuncture treatment of obesity].

Objective: To review the current situation of researches on auricular acupuncture treatment for obesity by using bibliometric analysis, so as to provide a reference for clinical application and experimental research in the future.

Methods: Articles written in both Chinese and English and published from the time of establishment of the following databases were collected from databases of CNKI, Wanfang, PubMed and Web of Science by using key words of "otopoint sticking" "otopoint seed-pres-sing" "auriculotherapy" "ear/auricular acupuncture" "auricular pressure" "auricular-plaster therapy" "acupuncture and auricular pressure" "auriculopressure" "transcutaneous vagus nerve stimulation (taVNS)" "obesity" "adiposity" "adiposis" and "fatty". The articles met our inclusive criteria were analyzed for summarizing their publication years, involved journals, research organizations and selected acupoints.

[Network Meta-analysis of effect of traditional Chinese medicine injections in adjuvant treatment of mycoplasma pneumonia in children].

To assess the clinical efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine injection for adjuvant treatment of mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia in children by network Meta-analysis method. We retrieved CNKI, WanFang, CBM, Cochrane Library, PubMed from the establishment to September 2018. Two reviewers independently screened out literatures, extracted data and assessed the methodological quality of included studies.

The Instant Spontaneous Neuronal Activity Modulation of Transcutaneous Auricular Vagus Nerve Stimulation on Patients With Primary Insomnia.

Primary insomnia (PI) is associated with increased spontaneous neuronal activity. Transcutaneous auricular vagus nerve stimulation (taVNS) modulates brain function, and it is an effective treatment for primary insomnia. However, whether taVNS alleviates insomnia through modulating spontaneous neuronal activity is not fully clarified.

Chemical probes for drug-induced liver injury imaging.

Drug-induced liver injury (DILI) has been a long-standing concern of modern medicine, and the single most frequent reason for drug nonapprovals and postapproval restrictions or withdrawals. Chemical probes for early diagnosis of DILI has triggered a tremendous interest in the field of molecular imaging. In this review, we make a brief summary of the recently developed chemical probes and their applications in DILI imaging with special attention to the design of chemical probes, mechanism of their actions and their performances in DILI imaging.

Sarcopenia associates with increased risk of hepatocellular carcinoma among male patients with cirrhosis.

Background & Aims: Sarcopenia is associated with a higher rate of complications and is an independent predictor of poor outcomes in cirrhosis. The aim of this study was to investigate the association between sarcopenia and the risk of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) among patients with cirrhosis.

Methods: Four hundred and ninety-two patients with cirrhosis and no evidence of HCC from 2008 to 2017 were enrolled, who had baseline abdominal computed tomography (CT) analyzed for identification of sarcopenia according to the previously established sex-specific cutoffs.

[Instant adjustive effect of auricular electroacupuncture on brain default model network of patients with primary insomnia].

Objective: To investigate the immediate brain effect of auricular electroacupuncture (EA) in the treatment of primary insomnia (PI).

Methods: In this study, 15 subjects with PI who were diagnosed according to Pitsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), and other 15 age- and gender-matched subjects without insomnia were recruited in the present study. The PI patients received EA (4 Hz/20 Hz, a tolerable electrical current strength) of auricular concha for 30 min, and their resting state functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) data before and after treatment were collected.

In recent years, with the continuous innovations of technologies in brain imaging, biosensors, human-computer interaction and big data, the brain science has become an important frontier field with interdisciplinarity and a focus of science and technology strategies in various countries.

Assessing Oromotor Capacity in ALS: The Effect of a Fixed-Target Task on Lip Biomechanics.

Alternating motion rate (AMR) is a standard measure often included in neurological examinations to assess orofacial neuromuscular integrity. AMR is typically derived from recordings of patients producing repetitions of a single syllable as fast and clear as possible on one breath. Because the task places high demands on oromotor performance, particularly articulatory speed, AMRs are widely considered to be tests of maximum performance and, therefore, likely to reveal underlying neurologic deficits.

[A modified device for transcutaneous electrical auricular concha stimulation in rats].

In the present paper, we introduce a newly modified device named "transcutaneous electrical auricular concha stimulator (TEACS)" for rats. It concludes a main unit (power and control buttons) with newly designed specific output electrodes. Each of the output electrode is made up of two pieces of iron sheet containing magnet and can be firmly attached to the auricular concha and the corresponding site of dorsal auricle, respectively.

Assessor- and participant-blinded, randomized controlled trial of dense cranial electroacupuncture stimulation plus body acupuncture for neuropsychiatric sequelae of stroke.

Aim: Acupuncture has benefits in the rehabilitation of neuropsychiatric sequelae of stroke. This study was aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of dense cranial electroacupuncture stimulation plus body acupuncture (DCEAS+BA) in treating poststroke depression (PSD), functional disability, and cognitive deterioration.

Methods: In this assessor- and participant-blinded, randomized controlled trial, 91 stroke patients who initially had PSD were randomly assigned to either DCEAS+BA (n = 45) or minimum acupuncture stimulation as controls (n = 46) for three sessions per week over 8 consecutive weeks.

[Electroacupuncture alleviated incisional neck pain possibly by suppressing TNF-α expression and increasing IL-4/IL-4 receptor signaling in cervical dorsal part of spinal cord in incisio-nal neck pain rats].

Objective: To observe the effect of electroacupuncture (EA) on incisional pain and expression of tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interleukin-10 (IL-10) and interleukin-4 (IL-4) of cervical dorsal part of spinal cord in rats with incisional neck pain, so as to explore its analgesic mechanisms.

Methods: Eighty-four male SD rats were randomly divided into normal control, model, EA-Futu(LI18) and EA-Zusanli(ST36)-Yanglingquan(GB34, EA-ST36-GB34) groups (=21 in each group). The incisional neck pain model was established by making a longitudinal incision along the bilateral cervical thyroid regions and repeated mechanical separation stimulation.

Efficacy and Safety of Chinese Herbal Medicine for Primary Intracerebral Hemorrhage: A Systematic Review of Randomized Controlled Trials.

Primary intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) is the most harmful subtype of stroke, but there have yet been no specific proven therapies. Chinese herbal medicine (CHM) has been used for ICH for more than a thousand years; however, currently it is still lacking of available evidence. The objective of this study is to assess the current available evidence of CHM for acute ICH according to randomized controlled trials.

Radiomics in predicting tumor molecular marker P63 for non-small cell lung cancer.

To establish a radiomics signature based on CT images of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) to predict the expression of molecular marker P63.
 Methods: A total of 245 NSCLC patients who underwent CT scans were retrospectively included. All patients were confirmed by histopathological examinations and P63 expression were examined within 2 weeks after CT examination.

Previous studies indicated extracts or compounds from Cistanches (ECC) exert a potential neuroprotective effect against AD. Thus, we conducted a preclinical systematic review to assess preclinical evidence and possible mechanisms of ECC in experimental AD.

[Auricular electroacupuncture improves depression possibly by promoting hippocampal Raf/ERK/RSK/CREB signaling in chronic unpredictable mild stress induced depression rats].

Objective: To observe the effect of auricular electroacupuncture (EA) on intracellular Raf/ extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK)/ ribosomal S6 kinase (RSK)/ cAMP response element-binding protein (CREB) signal pathway in the hippocampus of depression model rats, so as to explore its anti-depressive mechanism.

Methods: A total of 60 male SD rats were randomly divided into control, model, auricular EA, PD98059(ERK inhibitor), DMSO (Dimethylsulfoxide), PD98059+EA groups (=10 in each group). The rats in the control group were fed with normal diet without any treatment.
