Background: Attempted catheter manipulation via the retrograde aortic approach carries a risk of aortic dissection (AD) during catheter ablation.
Objective: To determine the incidence, management, and outcomes of iatrogenic AD associated with ablation of ventricular arrhythmia (VA).
Methods: All patients who sustained iatrogenic AD during retrograde aortic VA ablation at 6 centers between January 1, 2011 and September 30, 2023 were prospectively identified.

Atrioventricular nodal ablation (AVNA) represents a critical intervention in the management of refractory atrial fibrillation (AF) and heart failure (HF). When combined with biventricular pacing or conduction system pacing, particularly His bundle pacing and left bundle branch area pacing, this strategy offers distinct and complementary benefits. While each pacing modality presents unique advantages and potential limitations, their combination with AVNA offers a comprehensive and individualized treatment strategy for addressing associated HF.

Recently, the role of brain-expressed X-linked 4 (BEX4) in cancer progression has received increasing attention. This study aimed to investigate the function of BEX4 in ccRCC and to reveal the underlying mechanisms.

Although ibrutinib-induced AF is linked to enhanced oxidative stress, the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. This research aimed to explore the molecular mechanism and regulatory target in ibrutinib-induced AF.

Irradiation treatment notably increased the solubility, surface hydrophobicity, emulsification properties, and apparent viscosity of MPs, based on conformational changes caused by irradiation-induced oxidative denaturation of proteins. However, high doses of irradiation (15 kGy) induced in excessive cross-linking and aggregation of proteins, reducing the solubility, emulsification properties, and shear stress.

Objectives: In this study, the authors sought to assess the variability in PM score matching at different pacing rates.
Methods: During substrate mapping for VT ablation, PM was performed at cycle lengths (CLs) of 600 ms, 500 ms, 400 ms, 300 ms, and VT CL.

The influence of electron beam irradiation (EBI) treatment on the modification of gelatin-galactose glycosylation was thoroughly examined. The results of the degree of grafting and browning revealed that EBI triggered the glycosylation reaction of gelatin. The degree of glycosylation exhibited a gradual increase with the rising irradiation dose, reaching a maximum of 25 kGy.

This heightened risk underscores the urgent need for research into effective pharmacological interventions for cancer survivors. Notably, metformin, a well-known metabolic regulator with pleiotropic effects, has shown protective effects against cardiometabolic disorders in diabetic individuals.

Background: Cryoablation to achieve pulmonary vein (PV) isolation has become one of the standard approaches for atrial fibrillation (AF) ablation. The Arctic Front series cryoballoon and Achieve circular mapping catheter (Medtronic) inherently possess design defects that have been associated with unfavorite clinical outcomes. Lately, a new cryoablation system (Nordica Cryoablation System, Synaptic Medical) was developed with improved design of the cryoballoon and circular mapping catheter to address the inadequacies of current cryoablation technology.

Although clonal integration in epiphytes in tropical rubber plantations is important to understand their role in enhancing biodiversity and ecosystem services, research on this subject is limited. These plantations are typically monospecific economic forests that face increased anthropogenic disturbances.

The electroanatomic mapping (EAM) system allows visualizing puncture needle tip (NT) while displaying the electrogram recorded from NT, making it possible to obtain epicardial access (EA) independent of fluoroscopy. This study was designed to establish and validate a technique by which EA is obtained under guidance of three-dimensional (3D) EAM combined with NT electrogram.

As a member of the ovarian tumor (OTU) deubiquitinases, OTUD4 is considered a tumor suppressor in many kinds of malignancies. The biological characteristics and mechanisms of OTUD4 in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) remain unclear.

This paper begins with an analysis of the current development status of medical information diagnostic platforms based on Chat Generative Pre-trained Transformer (ChatGPT) and Internet of Things (IoT) technology. Subsequently, a comprehensive exploration of the advantages and disadvantages of swarm and evolutionary algorithms within the medical information diagnostic platform is presented.

The irradiation treatment at 4 and 6 kGy significantly increased the solubility, surface hydrophobicity, disulfide bonding, and ζ-potential of 11S globulin, decreased the particle size of the protein solution, and effectively improved the emulsifying activity and foaming stability of the protein solution. Moreover, irradiation induced moderate cross-linking and aggregation of the proteins, thereby increasing the apparent viscosity and shear stress of the protein solution.

A gradual reduction in the α-helix content of the secondary structure (as a stable structure) indicates that casein under EBI treatment mainly undergoes fragmentation and aggregation from a structural perspective. Furthermore, the hydrophobic group and tryptophan in the tertiary structure were exposed, which opened up the internal structure of the protein.

The surge of intraballoon pressure during the initial phase of ablation may change the balloon's shape and compliance, resulting in balloon dislodgement and loss of PV occlusion. Without continuous monitoring, this phenomenon is often undetected but can be associated with incomplete PV isolation (PVI).
