The present research aims at validating an Italian version of the BISF-W, to develop a BISF version for men (BISF-M) to fill the gap in the existing sexual function evaluation tools in Italy and to analyze gender and age groups differences in the BISF factors.

Death Education for Palliative Psychology: The Impact of a Death Education Course for Italian University Students.

The present study investigated the effects of a hybrid online course on a group of Italian Master's degree students involved in a European Erasmus+ project. Burnout following moral injury and dehumanization: A study of distress among Italian medical staff during the first COVID-19 pandemic period.

This study aimed to assess the effects of aging on mind wandering (MW) using a sustained attention to response task (SART) with a low cognitive demand. All task-unrelated thoughts (TUTs) and the subcategory of stimulus-independent thoughts (SITUTs) were examined across the adult life span. The relationship between MW, cognitive variables (attention, inhibition, working memory), and non-cognitive variables (mindfulness, psychological well-being, and anxiety) was investigated.

Death education and photovoice at school: A workshop with Italian high school students.

The study shows the effects of a death education workshop with Italian high school students. Students ( = 416) from 10 high schools throughout Italy participated: 212 in the experimental group and 204 in the control group. Domestic dogs (Canis familiaris) grieve over the loss of a conspecific.

Behavioural reactions towards a dead conspecific have been observed rarely in wild canids and there is no documented scientific evidence of grief in pet dogs. A quantitative analysis of grief-related responses in both dogs and owners was conducted, using the validated online Mourning Dog Questionnaire. The survey was completed by 426 Italian adults who had owned at least two dogs, one of whom died while the other was still alive.

Dehumanization and burden of care among caregivers of terminally ill patients.

This article considers the relationship between dehumanization, ontological representation of death, trust in physicians, and burden of care on the part of caregivers of terminally ill patients. One hundred informal caregivers (relatives and friends) of patients hospitalized in four hospice facilities in northern Italy were involved. Of these, 77% were primary caregivers (those who mostly helped the patient).
