Background: Prune belly syndrome (PBS) is characterized by the triad of abdominal flaccidity, bilateral undescended testicles and genitourinary tract anomalies. A variable spectrum of abdominal wall laxity is observed in PBS. We present the first case of a novel technique using a minimally invasive abdominoplasty to specifically address patients with localized abdominal wall weakness in PBS.

Article Synopsis
  • The study assessed different methods for determining lactate threshold in endurance runners with varying training levels (highly trained vs. lowly trained).
  • Twenty-seven male runners underwent a treadmill test with blood lactate analysis to evaluate their thresholds using three methods: DT1, 4 mmol/l, and semi-log.
  • Results showed that highly trained athletes had higher lactate thresholds, and the 4 mmol method yielded lower results compared to DT1 and semi-log, particularly in lowly trained runners.
