A teenager with atopic dermatitis presented with a 12-month history of recurrent, pruritic, round and polygonal patches on her face. Patch tests using the European standard series (including nickel, chromium, and cobalt chloride), a plastic and glue series of allergens, polyester components, and personal and environmental products in contact with the patient were conducted. For the patient and 3 of 14 healthy volunteers, positive reactions were observed to the patient's mobile phone touchscreen (TS), an extract solution from the TS, and a non-TS phone of another brand.

Hyperpigmented fixed eruption is a phenomenon usually related with drug antigens, and known as fixed drug eruption. A woman had a skin condition with clinical and histopathologic indications of fixed drug eruption. The disease first appeared when she went to a swimming pool and left with hyperpigmented macules.

Background: The association between ipsilateral café-au-lait macules, deafness, and pituitary adenoma has not been described previously.

Case Report And Results: A 35-year-old woman affected since birth with two café-au-lait macules, one measuring 15 x 20 cm, with an irregular shape, covering almost all of the left buttock, and the other measuring 6 x 13 cm on the front side of the left thigh, is described. For as long as the patient can remember, she has been totally deaf in the left ear, diagnosed as 100% congenital sensorineural deafness.

Background: Few studies have addressed exposure and sensitization to mite allergens in Andean countries.

Objectives: To identify the main mite species in 3 locations at different altitudes in Ecuador and to verify skin test reactivity to various mite species in allergic individuals in Quito, Ecuador.
