Objective: Juvenile myoclonic epilepsy (JME) is the most common form of idiopathic generalized epilepsies (IGEs) and is genetically heterogeneous. Mutations in cause JME. Because about 2 million people in India are affected by JME alone, we investigated the prevalence of mutations in the gene in the Indian population with JME.

A new bis-heteroleptic Ru(II) complex (1) of benzimidazole-substituted 1,2,3-triazole pyridine ligand has been designed and constructed for the photoluminescent detection of cationic and anionic analytes, Ag and phosphate ions. Compound, 1[PF] was fully characterized by various spectroscopic techniques and the solid-state structure was determined via single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The cation and anion sensing properties in 50% aqueous buffer (pH 9.

A new coumarin based Schiff base compound, CSB-1 has been synthesized to detect metal ion based on the chelation enhanced fluorescence (CHEF). The cation binding properties of CSB-1 was thoroughly examined in UV-vis and fluorescence spectroscopy. In fluorescence spectroscopy the compound showed high selectivity toward Al ion and the Al can be quantified in mixed aqueous buffer solution (MeOH: 0.

Reaction of salicylaldehyde-2-picolinylhydrazone (HL) Schiff base ligand with precursor compounds [{(p-cymene)RuCl2}2] 1, [{(C6H6)RuCl2}2] 2, [{Cp*RhCl2}2] 3 and [{Cp*IrCl2}2] 4 yielded the corresponding neutral mononuclear compounds 5-8, respectively. The in vitro antitumor evaluation of the compounds 1-8 against Dalton's ascites lymphoma (DL) cells by fluorescence-based apoptosis study and by their half-maximal inhibitory concentration (IC50) values revealed the high antitumor activity of compounds 3, 4, 5 and 6. Compounds 1-8 render comparatively lower apoptotic effect than that of cisplatin on model non-tumor cells, i.
