Objective: The anti-thrombogenic effects of statins and aspirin have been reported in various malignancies but have not been well examined in endometrial cancer. This study examined the association between statin and/or aspirin use and venous thromboembolism (VTE) risk in endometrial cancer.
Methods: This is a multi-center retrospective study examining 2527 women with endometrial cancer between 2000 and 2015.
Importance: The positive treatment effect of endovascular therapy (EVT) is assumed to be caused by the preservation of brain tissue. It remains unclear to what extent the treatment-related reduction in follow-up infarct volume (FIV) explains the improved functional outcome after EVT in patients with acute ischemic stroke.
Objective: To study whether FIV mediates the relationship between EVT and functional outcome in patients with acute ischemic stroke.
Objective: Analyze adverse events (AE) and survival associated with biologic therapies (BT) in the Biobadaguay, the Paraguayan Uruguayan registry of adverse events.
Methods: Prospective, observational study of undetermined duration. Patients on BT at initiation and controls were included.
Background: Historically, the Cox proportional hazard regression model has been the mainstay for survival analyses in oncologic research. The Cox proportional hazard regression model generally is used based on an assumption of linear association. However, it is likely that, in reality, there are many clinicopathologic features that exhibit a nonlinear association in biomedicine.

Its metallic conductivity and transmittance bring favorable perspectives for organic photovoltaic applications. Although graphene oxide (GO) is not a good conductor, it can form high-quality thin films and can be transparent, and additionally, GO is an inexpensive material and can be easily synthesized.

During extrusion, the molecular weight of banana starch was reduced from 2.75 × 10 to 4.

However, the molecular underpinnings of NOS regulation by phosphorylations remain unclear to date, mainly because of the problems in making a good amount of active phospho-NOS proteins. Herein, we have established a system in which recombinant rat nNOS holoprotein can be produced with site-specific incorporation of phosphoserine (pSer) at residue 1412, using a specialized bacterial host strain for pSer incorporation.

However, how Sp17 expression varies with histology, grade, and stage of EOC and its expression in other ovarian neoplasms has not been defined. It is unknown whether patients with EOC have elevated serum Sp17 levels or if Sp17 expression is associated with survival outcomes.

We aimed to investigate the association between baseline imaging features and safety and efficacy of EVT in acute ischaemic stroke caused by anterior large-vessel occlusion.
Methods: In this meta-analysis of individual patient-level data, the HERMES collaboration identified in PubMed seven randomised trials in endovascular stroke that compared EVT with standard medical therapy, published between Jan 1, 2010, and Oct 31, 2017.
Objectives: Cisplatin and mitomycin C exert high activity towards BRCA1-deficient cells. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of a combination of these drugs in hereditary BRCA1-associated ovarian cancer (OC).
Methods: Twelve OC patients, who could not be treated by primary debulking surgery owing to extensive tumor spread, were given neoadjuvant cisplatin (100 mg/m) and mitomycin C (10 mg/m) every 4 weeks for 3 (n = 9), 2 (n = 2), or 4 (n = 1) cycles.
Objective: To examine significance of sarcoma dominance (SD) patterns in uterine carcinosarcoma (UCS).
Methods: This is a secondary analysis of multicenter retrospective study examining women with stages I-IV UCS who underwent primary surgery. SD was defined as >50% of sarcoma component in uterine tumor.
Objective: To examine the association between tumor grade and survival for women with squamous cervical cancer.
Methods: This retrospective observational study utilized the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Result program data between 1983 and 2013 to examine women with squamous cervical cancer with known tumor differentiation grade. Multivariable analyses were performed to assess independent associations between tumor differentiation grade and survival.
Objective: To examine survival of women who develop metachronous uterine malignancy after definitive pelvic radiotherapy for cervical cancer.
Methods: This retrospective observational study examined the Surveillance, Epidemiology, End Results Program between 1973 and 2013. Women with cervical cancer who received definitive radiotherapy without hysterectomy were examined for the diagnosis of metachronous uterine malignancy (n = 5277).
Purpose: The aim of this study was to determine the prognostic significance of PET/CT findings in women with cervical cancer and describe the normalization of lymph node SUVmax (nSUVmax).
Materials And Methods: A retrospective review was performed of 113 patients with cervical cancer who underwent a PET/CT before receiving definitive therapy. SUVmax measurements were normalized to the SUV of the pelvic blood pool.
Background: Trachelectomy is the treatment of choice for reproductive-aged women with early-stage cervical cancer who desire future fertility. Comprehensive population-based statistics have been missing to date.
Objective: We sought to compare characteristics and survival of reproductive-aged women who underwent trachelectomy for early-stage cervical cancer to those who had hysterectomy.
Purpose: To propose a categorization model of uterine carcinosarcoma (UCS) based on tumor cell types (carcinoma and sarcoma) and sarcoma dominance.
Methods: This secondary analysis of a prior multicenter retrospective study examined 889 cases of UCS with available histologic evaluation. Based on survival outcome, cases were clustered into three groups: low-grade carcinoma with nondominant homologous sarcoma [type A, n = 96 (10.
Objective: To examine incidences and risk factors for metachronous vulvar, vaginal, and anal malignancies after a cervical cancer diagnosis.
Methods: This is a retrospective study examining data from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Result Program between 1973 and 2013. Cumulative incidences of vulvar, vaginal, and anal cancers after the diagnosis of cervical cancer were assessed (n = 79,050).
The course of the internal carotid artery (ICA) and its segment classifications were reviewed by means of a new and freely available 3D interactive model of the artery and the skull base, based on human neuroimages, that can be freely downloaded at the Public Repository of the University of Barcelona (http://diposit.ub.edu/dspace/handle/2445/112442) and runs under Acrobat Reader in Mac and Windows computers and Windows 10 tablets.

Nanocomposites with 5 wt% (P3HT/Fe-MWCNT-5%) and 10 wt% (P3HT/Fe-MWCNT-10%) of Fe-MWCNT species were prepared and compared with pristine P3HT film. The quantitative NEXAFS analysis shows a strong π-π interchain interaction of the pristine P3HT polymer film, which is reduced by the presence of the Fe-MWCNT.

Methods: This is a retrospective observational study examining the Surveillance, Epidemiology, End Results program between 1988 and 2013. We evaluated 21,537 cases of stage I-II epithelial ovarian cancer including serous (n=7,466), clear cell (n=6,903), mucinous (n=4,066), and endometrioid (n=3,102) histology.
Tumors deficient in DNA mismatch repair are known to display increased susceptibility to immune checkpoint inhibitors due to accumulation of DNA damage and increased neoantigen load. This suggests that deficiency in the -related DNA repair mechanism may also be a surrogate marker for immunotherapy response. The aim of this study was to examine the efficacy of the immune checkpoint inhibitor, nivolumab, in women with gene mutations and recurrent müllerian cancer.
