Listeriosis is a severe disease caused by the foodborne pathogen , posing a significant risk to vulnerable populations such as the elderly, pregnant women, and newborns. While relatively uncommon, it has a high global mortality rate of 20-30%. Recent research indicates that smaller outbreaks of the more severe, invasive form of the disease occur more frequently than previously thought, despite the overall stable infection rates of over the past 10 years.

Functionalised nanocarriers offer a promising solution for precise drug delivery by actively targeting cancer cells through specific receptors, notably folate receptors. By overcoming the limitations of passive targeting in conventional therapies, this approach holds the potential for enhanced treatment efficacy through combination therapy.

Drug repurposing, also referred to as drug repositioning or drug reprofiling, is a scientific approach to the detection of any new application for an already approved or investigational drug. It is a useful policy for the invention and development of new pharmacological or therapeutic applications of different drugs. The strategy has been known to offer numerous advantages over developing a completely novel drug for certain problems.

Angular distribution, linear polarization, and lifetime measurements were performed to determine the multipolarity, type, mixing ratio, and absolute transition probability of the transitions. By comparing these experimental observations with the corresponding fingerprints and the quantum particle rotor model calculations, the second and third lowest bands are, respectively, suggested as the chiral partner and one-phonon wobbling excitation built on the yrast band.

The α decay of ^{160}Os, measured with an α-particle energy of 7080(26) keV and a half-life of 201_{-37}^{+58} μs, is assigned to originate from the ground state. The daughter nucleus ^{156}W is a β^{+} emitter with a half-life of 291_{-61}^{+86} ms.

The phosphodiesterase enzymes hydrolyze cyclic dinucleotides, such as 2',3'-cyclic GMP-AMP and c-di-AMP, which are stimulator of interferon gene (STING) agonists. By blocking the hydrolysis of STING agonists, the cyclic GMP-AMP synthase (cGAS)-STING-IRF3 pathway is potentiated.

Osteoporosis is a systemic condition of the skeleton that leads to diminished bone mass, a breakdown in the bone tissue's microscopic architecture, and an elevated risk of breaking a bone. The elderly and women particularly after menopause are disproportionately affected, and the condition generally stays undiagnosed until a broken bone causes severe pain and immobility. Causes of osteoporosis include low bone mass, more than normal bone loss, changes in hormone levels (decreased estrogen or testosterone), certain diseases and therapies, and lifestyle factors like smoking and inactivity.

Rolling at elevated temperature was considered to fabricate Mo foil while gold foil was fabricated employing conventional rolling technique. The heating of Mo foil under natural environment lead to the oxidation or carbonization on foil surface which was confirmed through Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDS) measurements.

In the present work, the Doppler Shift Attenuation method (DSAM) was used to analyze the observed lineshapes of transitions from excited states in Sc, populated in the reaction Ar + C at a beam energy of 145 MeV. The interpretation and comparison of the experimental results have been performed with large-scale shell model calculations, involving different interactions like: GX1A, GX1J, FPD6, KB3 and ZBM2. KB3 and FPD6 (present work) interactions in the negative parity states, and in positive parity states ZBM2 are most pre-eminent in reproducing the results, due to the large configuration space describing strong collective effects.

Methods: A parallel arm randomized controlled trial among patients with type 2 diabetes aged 30-60 years, with HbA1c > 7%, diagnosed for at least 5 yrs., was conducted at the national institute of diabetes and endocrinology in Karachi, Pakistan.
Gliflozins constitute an important class of compounds useful as sodium glucose co-transporter (SGLT2) inhibitors to treat type-II diabetes. They act by blocking sodium-glucose transport protein 2 which is responsible for re-absorption of glucose in the proximal convoluted tubule (PCT) of kidney and thus its inhibition reduces blood glucose level. There are a number of gliflozins which have been approved by drug regulatory bodies like FDA, EMA and PMDA whereas some others are in pipeline in their late developmental phases.

The origin of above events is Amyloid precursor protein (APP) which is an integral membrane protein known for its function in synapses formation. Modern research had proposed that the over expression of DYRK1A (Dual specificity tyrosine phosphorylation regulated kinase1A, a family of protein kinases, positioned within the Down's syndrome critical region (DSCR) on human chromosome 21causes phosphorylation of APP protein resulting in its cleavage to Aβ 40, 42 and tau proteins (regulated by beta and gamma secretase) which plays critical role in early onset of Alzheimer's disease (AD) detected in Down's syndrome (DS), leading to permanent functional and structural deformities which results ultimately into neuro-degeneration and neuronal death.

The aim of the study was to develop and optimize Piroxicam transdermal gel formulation using three-factor, three-level Box-Behnken design by deriving a second-order polynomial equation to construct contour plots for prediction of responses as three selected independent variables with ratio of carbopol 974 (X1), ratio of propylene glycol (PG) (X2) and ratio of ethanol (X3). The dependent variables studied were the skin permeation rate of piroxicam (Y1), viscosity of the gel (Y2) and pH of the gel (Y3). Response surface plots were drawn, statistical validity of the polynomials was established to find the compositions of optimized formulation which was evaluated using the vertical Franz-type diffusion cell.
