Predictive values of ultrasound characters associated with malignant thyroid nodules in Yaoundé: a cross-sectional study.

Introduction: most ultrasound criteria are defined in developed countries and commonly used in practice to assess the malignancy risk of thyroid nodules. This practice does not take into consideration some aspects of our context as delay of consultation and insufficient iodine intake. The objective of this study was to determine the predictive values of ultrasound characters associated with malignant thyroid nodules in our environment.

Approach and solutions to congenital hearing impairment in Cameroon: perspective of hearing professionals.

Objectives: To bring out the diagnostic attitude of hearing professionals in Cameroon towards congenital hearing impairment (CHI), assess availability of tests, neonatal screening, and create a national map of availability of treatment opportunities.

Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional online-based survey from June to December 2021, concerning ear-nose-throat (ENT) specialists, hearing care professionals, speech therapists and ENT nurses. A Google Forms online questionnaire was used to collect data, filled by eligible professionals involved in hearing care in Cameroon.

Thyroid heterotopia revealed by a cervical subcutaneous nodule: a clinical case report.

Thyroid heterotopia is an abnormal localization of normal thyroid tissue coexisting with a normal organ on a normal localization. It is a rare condition with a frequency that is not well known in the literature. We report a case of thyroid heterotopia in a 30 month-old girl referred for a painless lower antero-cervical nodule that has been developing for one year with past history no contributory.

[Aberrant internal carotid artery: a rare cause of cough: about a clinical case].

Aberrant course of the internal carotid artery is a rare congenital malformation. Aberrant course of cervical internal carotid artery accounts for 5% of cases. Several cases of fatal hemorrhage due to an injury to the aberrant internal carotid artery have been observed in patients undergoing pharyngeal surgery procedures.
