Discoid meniscus is a congenital morphological variant of the meniscus, which tends to occur more frequently in its lateral form than in the medial form. In this work, two plant foods, strawberry and tomato, were subjected to exposure to metals from synthetic airborne particles in a closed chamber experiment. The synthetic particles were obtained in the laboratory. We present a new method for the calculation of the multiple acoustic diffraction caused by the presence of a wide barrier. Our solution decomposes the initial scenario into an equivalent sum of geometries that only consider knife-edges. Then, by applying Babinet's principle, the total acoustic field that reaches the receiving point, which can be located at an arbitrary position, can be calculated via the uniform theory of diffraction.

While the brain connectivity network can inform the understanding and diagnosis of developmental dyslexia, its cause-effect relationships have not yet enough been examined. Purpose/objective(s): On October 5, 2018, a meeting of the Spanish Society of Radiation Oncology (SEOR) Brachytherapy Group was held, in collaboration with the Spanish Society of Medical Physics (SEFM), with the aim of preparing a consensus document on postoperative vaginal-cuff brachytherapy (VCBT).

Materials/methods: A survey including 42 questions was sent to Spanish Radiation Oncology Centres before the meeting. The survey items included: experience in VCBT, technique indications, previous patient preparation, applicator type, implant procedure, computerized tomography (CT) simulation, definition of target volumes and organs at risk (OAR), dose prescription, fractionation, treatment planning, dosimetric parameters and constraints to OAR.

The cannabinoid receptor type 1 (CB1) plays critical roles in multiple physiological processes such as pain perception, brain development and body temperature regulation. Mutations on this gene (CNR1), results in altered functionality and/or biosynthesis such as reduced membrane expression, changes in mRNA stability or changes in downstream signaling that act as triggers for diseases such as obesity, Parkinson's, Huntington's, among others; thus, it is considered as a potential pharmacological target. To date, multiple quantification methods have been employed to determine how these mutations affect receptor expression and localization; however, they present serious disadvantages that may arise quantifying errors.

As the microscopic details of individuals' brains are directly shaped by their rich experiences, musicians can develop certain neurological characteristics, such as improved brain plasticity, following extensive musical training. Specifically, the advanced bimanual motor coordination that pianists exhibit means that they may interact more effectively with BCI systems than their non-musically trained counterparts; this could lead to personalized BCI strategies according to the users' previously detected skills.
