While various zirconia-based alternatives are available today for the restoration of teeth and implants in the esthetic zone, each treatment approach could result in different optical behavior. To clinically demonstrate these differences, this case report describes a rehabilitation in the esthetic zone using several options of teeth- and implant-supported restorations. Conventional veneered zirconia crowns, high-translucent monolithic zirconia crowns, and minimally veneered high-translucent zirconia crowns were proposed and assessed under different light sources before cementation.

Materials And Methods: Internal tapered connection implants, embedded in acrylic resin at 30° inclination, were restored with lithium disilicate restorations, simulating a maxillary premolar (n = 20), with different designs: screw-retained titanium base abutment-crowns, and cement-retained crowns. The specimens were submitted to cyclic mechanical loading (1.

TNBCs utilize glycolysis, which heightens their growth, proliferation, invasiveness, chemotherapeutic resistance and poor therapeutic response.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFTriple-negative breast cancer is an aggressive subtype of breast cancer with low 5-year survival rates, high 3-year recurrence rates, and no known therapeutic targets. Recent studies have indicated that triple-negative breast cancers possess an altered metabolic state with higher rates of glycolysis, mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation, and increased generation and utilization of tricarboxylic acid cycle intermediates. Here, we utilized label-free quantitative proteomics to gain insight into the anticancer mechanisms of a methanolic extract from the Central American plant Lippia origanoides on MDA-MB-231 triple-negative breast cancer cells.

Craniopharyngioma is an uncommon benign neoplasm, accounting for 1%-3% of all intracranial tumors, and the most common non-neuroepithelial intracranial neoplasm in childhood. Usually, the tumor is confined to the sellar region and the third ventricle, but due to frequent infiltration and adherence to the central nervous system, it often has an unfavorable clinical behavior. Therefore, it is classified by the World Health Organization (WHO) as a tumor of low or uncertain malignant potential.
