Predicting Pain After Tooth Extraction: Pain Prediction Index.

Aims: To identify relevant variables that may predict pain after routine extraction of erupted teeth, to construct a Pain Prediction Index (PPI) based on these variables, and to verify how these variables are related by using valid structural equation modeling (ie, path analysis).

Methods: This study was designed as an observational prospective study for postoperative memory of pain after dental extraction of erupted teeth. Data from a total of 781 surgical procedures related to dental extractions were included.

Tris(trimethylsilyl)silane and visible-light irradiation: a new metal- and additive-free photochemical process for the synthesis of indoles and oxindoles.

A combined tris(trimethylsilyl)silane and visible-light-promoted intramolecular reductive cyclization protocol for the synthesis of indoles and oxindoles has been developed. This straightforward and efficient method shows tolerance towards a broad spectrum of functional-groups and enables rapid and practical synthesis of functionalized nitrogen-based heterocycles in high yields under additive and metal-free, mild photochemical conditions.

Basic-functionalized recyclable ionic liquid catalyst: A solvent-free approach for Michael addition of 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds to nitroalkenes under ultrasound irradiation.

A task-specific ionic liquid (TSIL) has been introduced as a recyclable catalyst in Michael addition. A series of nitroalkenes and various C-based nucleophiles were reacted in the presence of 30mol% of recyclable basic-functionalized ionic liquid. Good to excellent yields were obtained in 30min under ultrasound irradiation.
