Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted with 982 adolescents aged between 12 and 15 years, enrolled in public schools in Jacarezinho (PR), Brazil. Screen time was assessed by the question "Considering a typical day, how much time do you spend watching TV, playing videogame, using computer or smartphone?" The DASS-21 questionnaire (short form) was used to assess symptoms of depression, anxiety, and stress.

The photocatalytic discoloration of industrial dyes, Novacron blue (NB) and Novacron yellow (NY), was investigated using composites based on TiO and natural palygorskite (Pal-Ti10 and Pal-Ti30). The method consisted of synthesizing the composites starting from a physical mixture of TiO and natural palygorskite in the presence of alcohol, for impregnation through calcination under conditions of temperature equal to 450 °C and atmospheric air. The characterization techniques used in this work were FTIR, XRD, XRF, SEM, particle size analysis and zeta potential.

Antimicrobial-resistant bacteria were isolated from muscoid dipterans collected at five different areas of Rio de Janeiro city, in proximity to hospitals. Extracts obtained by maceration of flies were diluted and used as inocula for different culture media, with or without antibiotic (ceftriaxone 1 mg/L) supplementation. Purified isolates were submitted to antimicrobial susceptibility testing (AST).

Bilateral Sesamoiditis as First Manifestation of Gout.

Sesamoiditis secondary to gout is an extremely rare condition with few case reports in the literature. It is an important differential diagnosis because the treatment depends on targeted therapy, unlike the main causes of sesamoiditis that often involves immobilization with special orthoses and prescription of anti-inflammatory drugs. Case Report: Malignant Ventricular Arrhythmias Mimicking Acute Coronary Syndrome in Chagas Disease.

Chronic Chagas heart disease has different clinical manifestations including arrhythmias, heart failure, and stroke. Chest pain is one of the most common symptoms and when associated with changes in the electrocardiogram, such as T-wave changes, electrically inactive areas, and segmental wall motion abnormalities, may lead to a misdiagnosis of acute coronary syndrome (ACS). Here, we describe two patients with Chagas heart disease and syncope due to sustained ventricular tachycardia who were misdiagnosed with ACS, and discuss the role of novel imaging modalities in the differential diagnosis and risk stratification.

Risk Stratification of an Accessory Pathway Using Isoproterenol after Cardiac Arrest.

A 43-year-old man presented after ventricular fibrillation cardiac arrest with evidence of pre-excited atrial fibrillation. Electrophysiology study with guideline-directed testing demonstrated a low risk accessory pathway effective refractory period, which became high-risk with isoproterenol infusion. This case represents a challenging scenario wherein a high-risk pathway may be misclassified using the currently indicated methods of risk stratification.
