Context And Objective: Checking the histocompatibility of the molecules of the human leukocyte antigen (HLA) system is vital for performing bone marrow transplantation with allogeneic material. The objective of this study was to characterize bone marrow donors according to gender, age, ethnicity and HLA groups at a regional hemotherapy center in Brazil.
Design And Setting: Descriptive study on registered donors at a regional hemotherapy center in a public university hospital in the southeastern region of Brazil.
This paper addressed the mortality rate for elderly people in Araraquara in the state of São Paulo between 2006 and 2011. An epidemiological descriptive study was conducted using data from the National Mortality Information System and the Data Analysis State System Foundation. The ratio between mortality rates by point (R) and by 95% confidence interval (IC95%) were estimated.

Context And Objective: Patients with chronic kidney failure undergoing dialysis have high prevalence of protein-energy malnutrition. There is still no uniform method for assessing these patients' nutritional status. It is recommended that a set of subjective and objective methods should be applied so that an adequate nutritional diagnosis can be reached.
