Background: Developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH) is a complex clinical entity that is usually underdiagnosed, if not detected and managed early, will turn the affected individual into a disabled being, with negative social, economic and emotional effects.

Objective: To determine the capacity for the timely radiographic detection of DDH before and after an educational intervention.

Method: An educational intervention is carried out in family medicine resident, where they are given training on detection in DDH radiographic projections.

Method: A prospective study was carried out to evaluate the degree of exposure to ionizing radiation with a bandage dosimeter placed under the lead apron for medical residents for 10 months. An online survey measured the degree of knowledge about radiation safety.

Librarian and information services focused on supporting research, teaching, and health care are vital for the generation of new knowledge and its application in health care, both by staff and students, helps to improve the quality of medical care. Therefore, in this article we expose an historical and social tour of 50 years of the Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social's library services in Puebla. From 1964 to 2014 occurred many events in the development of these services in our area, from the creation of a small space in the basement, to the implementation of spaces created deliberately to provide dignified service to all users, which is why this historical sketch is here as an acknowledgement to the first librarians who contributed to the training of specialists in Mexico.

Background: Idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura is characterized by extravasation of blood into the subcutaneous tissue, mucous membranes or skin; it generates bleeding manifestations as ecchymotic lesions, petechiae of sudden onset, epistaxis, bleeding from the gums, and serious complications such as intracranial hemorrhage. This condition is due to a platelet destruction mediated by antibodies directed against the surface of the platelets. The objective is to present the clinical characteristics of patients with idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura in a third level medical facility in Puebla, México.
