The aim of the present study was to develop the first life tables for the dog population of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires by constructing life expectancy tables. Data on canines received for final disposal at the Luis Pasteur Zoonosis Institute of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires from January 2018 to December 2021 were used to prepare the life tables. Of the 11,429 dogs that died in that period, the overall life expectancy at birth was 11.
