Socioeconomic inequality in Latin America and the Caribbean: the post-pandemic future for the training of health professionals.

Inequality is a global, structural problem that is particularly marked in the world's poorest countries. The covid-19 pandemic exacerbated this historic problem in Latin America and the Caribbean and deepened uncertainties in relation to basic human needs. This study presents an overview of the subject on the basis of official reports from international agencies (PAHO, WHO, ECLAC) between 2019 and 2022 and discusses some paths for the training of health professionals in Brazil.

Religiosity and sexuality: counseling provided by Brazilian Protestant pastors.

Objective: This qualitative study aimed to explore counseling about sexuality and contraception provided to the church community.

Methods: The oral history method was performed. Data were collected through in-depth face-to-face interviews with 18 Brazilian Protestant pastors and were examined using thematic analysis.

Counseling regarding sexual and reproductive behavior: principles and practices of catholic priests.

Considering and respecting religious beliefs and values is vital for delivering integral health care. This study describes the religious principles and guidance provided by Catholic priests on sexuality and reproduction. The oral history method was used.

[Characterization of caregivers of victims of traumatic brain injury on an outpatient follow-up program].

The present study characterized the main family caregiver of 50 victims of traumatic brain injury on an outpatient follow-up program of a trauma center in São Paulo through interviews and record analyses. The results revealed that caregivers had average age of 44.9, were mostly female, single, Catholic, had not completed elementary school and had no paid occupation prior to the trauma.
