Background: Calcitriol pulse therapy (CPT) is considered the most appropriate treatment of secondary hyperparathyroidism (sHPTH). This treatment inhibits parathyroid hormone (PTH) synthesis and secretion, suppresses parathyroid cell proliferation and controls parathyroid gland growth.
