Latinos are a minority population that experience many healthcare disparities that impact their access to health-related services. Improvement of health literacy is one way that healthcare providers can positively influence health outcomes within this population. Changes in educational curriculum have limited student's exposure to health information and created a gap in knowledge.

Background: Transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) is currently being investigated as a non-invasive neuromodulation therapy for a range of conditions including stroke rehabilitation. tDCS affects not only the area underlying the electrodes but also other areas of the cortex and subcortical structures. This could lead to unintended alteration in brain functions such as autonomic control.

Oscillatory neuronal dynamics associated with manual acupuncture: a magnetoencephalography study using beamforming analysis.

Magnetoencephalography (MEG) enables non-invasive recording of neuronal activity, with reconstruction methods providing estimates of underlying brain source locations and oscillatory dynamics from externally recorded neuromagnetic fields. The aim of our study was to use MEG to determine the effect of manual acupuncture on neuronal oscillatory dynamics. A major problem in MEG investigations of manual acupuncture is the absence of onset times for each needle manipulation.

SESAMI study of employment support for people with severe mental health problems: 12-month outcomes.

In the context of UK policy to promote employment for people with disability as a means to greater social inclusion, this study investigated how people with severe mental health problems fare in existing supported employment agencies. The aim of the study was to identify factors associated with successful placement in work and to test the impact of working on psychological well-being in this group. One hundred and fifty-five users of six English agencies were followed up for 1 year (2005-2006).

Factors influencing the delivery of evidence-based supported employment in England.

This paper assesses the extent to which the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) approach is currently adopted in England. Interviews based on the Supported Employment Fidelity Scale were conducted with staff from five of the leading providers of supported employment. One provider obtained a good IPS adherence score, three a fair score and one a non-adherence score.
